writer's block
sucks.
sucks.
That's why we've got the cure! There are a few simple tricks to curing this devastating muse-sucking, dry and idea-less state of mind. And, although it is up to you to ultimately save yourself from this terrible disease, we would like to give you a boost to help!get inspired!
- Freshen up. Take a shower, wash your face, relax.
- Go for a walk, get some air, give your mind a rest and breathe!
- Eat/drink. Can't think while you're hungry or thirsty.
- Stretch/move around. If you've been sitting for awhile or haven't gotten your days energy relieved from your body, then it's about time.
- New plot for the character? Maybe it's time to try and make the plot more meaningful, or to get them into a plot in general. Check out the plot board to get engaged, it's no fun to role play without a direction.
- Cool down. Some minds think better in cooler temperatures, some in warmer. So if you enjoy warmer, well, then warm up!
- Cleanliness, though it is not everyone, some people think better in cleaner environments. Clutter and trash and junk may get in the way of your thought process.
- Take a break from the character you are having writers block with, and work on another character.
Those are just a few bullet points we have. If you have any other ideas, please let us know and we will add them.
A good idea, also, is to question and expand on the character you are writing about. What don't you like about them, and what do you like about them? Revise. Add something to spice it up. Whatever you feel like, it's your character! If all else fails and you just cannot use that character, please either notify us that you would like to delete them, or place them in character adoption.
Hope this helped, and good luck!
