The gym was almost empty, a few members of the basketballteam still practicing a new way around the defense. Zach wasn't on the team, but he found himself watching them curiously anyways. He was a natural when it came to sports - he loved to do stuff with his body, challenging himself and winning the big trophys. Besides, it was an amazing way to meet new people and enjoy the company of his friends. He hadn't yet tried out for the basketballteam, but he was thinking about it. A lot. He bit his lip to try to remove the smile that had a tendency to show, whenever he thought about all the times his friends and he had played down by the Santa Monica pier. He sighed, scratching the back of his neck. He was dressed in a pair of basketballshorts, a white, tight tanktop, and some white sneakers used for the purpose. He stole a ball from the basketballteam, and decided to practice some moves and shoots on one of the rims on the side. He ran a hand through his hair, before moving in a circle and getting the ball clean through the rim without touching the plate. He caught the ball again, continuing to practice twopointers. Even though he was very tall for a regular American, he wasn't tall enough to dunk. His mind drifted off, as he listened to the low music in the hall - Ridin' Solo with Jason Derulo. A song, he'd always liked a lot. His thoughts went back to the time he'd spent with his old friend, Taylor, as it often did... He still felt guilty about the whole thing, but he didn't regret what he'd done. His heart started pounding harder in his chest, as the tempo increased. He was in great shape, no doubt about that. His rockhard abs were visible through his shirt, catching the attention of a few girls passing by the door to the hall. As an attempt to drown out his thoughts and worries, he pushed himself even further, making the sweat burst out on his forehead. It didn't work at first, but after a little while, his head finally went quiet. He'd needed that, for a long time. He'd just arrived the day before, so he was still new to everything in this school - it didn't bother him that much, though. He'd noticed a lot of people around here were... different. At least they looked different. A little more... colorful, or with no color at all. It didn't bother him, people could be nice even though they had piercings everywhere. He had to take a break, so he dropped the ball and grabbed his towel from one of the seats, swinging it over his shoulder as he took his bottle of water. He watched the team practice, while he caught his breath. Some of them were talented, but others looked like they could need some help... Bad.

like a moth I'm drawn into your flame
Rouge wasn’t a person that wasn’t much into sports. Nothing about it seem to caught her interest at all. It seem, pointless, but who was she to judge. Somehow she found herself at the court. Her mind wasn’t on the whole deal of what was going on on the court. Sitting with her feet up against the back of another seat, she had her notebook on the lap. Scribbling in it, her green blue eyes, glanced up at the person on the court. Watching for a little bit, she went back to her own little idea. As a girl walked up to her, she cared a small conversation with her before closing the notebook. Sighing some to herself, she went back to watching. Maybe it was just her, but she didn’t see the whole reason and she knew completely she could watch a whole game of it. It was something different for her. For the moment, she was trying to give everything a fresh try. Sinking down in the seat some, her blonde hair was light a sea of waves along her face and hanging down. Dressed in jeans and a jacket, she hid her many tattoos from everyone around. Everyone gave her the odd looks when they seen her skin marked with crazy ink. The piercing seem to get by people more so. People seem to think it was less committed since she could just always take them out. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and tried to get her mind in line. Something she couldn’t do often.

It didn't take long, before Zach was bored with his little break. He emptied the waterbottle, before throwing it back down on the seat. He felt his heartrate slowing down the longer he waited, but he knew he would have to get it up and racing again to clear his mind. He grabbed the ball, and scored a few points before his mind started slipping off once again. He slowly lost his concentration more and more, and before he could do anything about it, the ball was flying mid-air against the tribunes. He could tell where it was headed, towards a girl he hadn't seen before, but there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop it as it flew straight towards her lap and the notebook she was holding. He flew up the stairs, ready to face her insults - he knew it was his fault, though he hadn't done it on purpose. He stopped next to her, grabbing the ball with an apologetic look in his eyes. ,, I'm so sorry, I guess I wasn't focused." He bit down on his lowerlip, as he watched the expression on her face. She was pretty, but she looked a little scary - at least Zach though so. He waited for her to start yelling at him. He didn't care much for being yelled at in general, but when he deserved it, he knew better than to fight and just let it happen. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to make himself look a little more boyish... it was easier to get away with what he'd done, if he seemed all innocent. As a boy he'd always gotten himself in trouble - both random, innocent stuff but also something a little worse, like peeking into his neighbor's bathroom when their 15-year old was taking a shower. He'd stopped doing that, when he was 13, and the girl saw him and her mom had yelled at his mom for about an hour. He had never been caught when it came to drugs, streetraces or anything he could actually get arrested for - busted for fighting a few times, though. He felt like shakig his head at the thought, but because of the situation he was in, he decided not to.

like a moth I'm drawn into your flame The sudden break from her gathering her thoughts was some what shocking. With her temper rising, she took a deep breath because boy how she knew how mad and bitchy she could get in a split second. Her temper was probably her down fall most of the time and the sudden snapping she did at people. As long as she told herself to take a deep breath she could control. Setting her feet on the ground she sat up more before her eyes made their way to what had to be the 'criminal' of the crime. Taking in his features and his act of trying to be innocent, in her head she was rolling her eyes. It seem always to be the innocent ones that did the most damage. "It's fine...shit happens, right?" Rouge spoke with her words intelligently sounding and covered with a French accent that clung tight to them. Her voice wasn't raised high at him. The lowness and softness of it almost gave a tone of she didn't care that it happened. Which, it didn't bother her too much.
Closing the notebook scribbled filled of notes and stuff, her eyes found way back to him. Shaking her head some, she just cracked a smile grin at his still attempt to be innocent. "Playing innocent with me doesn't work, I can see write through it." Her words almost in a jokingly manner. It was easy to see if someone was acting, well to her at least. She was professional. Most of her life she acted like she was this good child that did no wrong. Oh how it was a lie but oh how no one knew the truth.

Zach tilted his head to the side, as a curious look sneaked it's way into his eyes, when she didn't seem to get mad. ,, Yeah, it does." he agreed, throwing the ball from one hand to the other, trying to keep his hands busy, so he wasn't just standing there. He didn't know whether he should just leave right there now that he'd apologized, or if he should stick around and try to make yet another friend. He needed friends in this place, both for company but also because he had to talk to keep his thoughts away from Taylor and his past... Everything that had happened in Laguna Beach and in Los Angeles. He bit his lip and shifted his weight from one foot to another in surprise, when she could see right through his innocent facade. He'd always been an incredible actor, so when someone finally saw through his beautiful eyes, he always got a little bit impressed. A grin grew on his face, making him look both cute and charming - he couldn't helpit, it was just how he looked. ,, It must have worked a bit. You didn't yell at me." He replied, a smile still gracing his face. He was kidding, though, he didn't know if she was just a nice person in general. He noticed that she had an accent, but couldn't recall where it was from. His eyes fell on the notebook she was holding, and he tried to figure out if it was homework or private. He didn't mean to snag, but his curiousity had been awakened. ,, What that?" He asked, sitting down on the backrest of one of the seats, facing her. It wouldn't bother him, if she wouldn't tell him, but he would have to find out at some point though. He bit his lip, and took a quick look around the court; the basketballteam had left while he'd been talking to the girl. ,, Let me make it up to you." He then said, his eyes a bit narrowed in a thoughtfull expression. ,, I'm Zach, by the way." He told her with a smile. He never used Zachary - nobody ever called him that, unless he was in trouble... big trouble, so of course he didn't ask anyone to call him that.

Giving him a sly sort of smile at his comment of it working, she just shrugged some. "If I yell at you, you have to really tick me off or I want to murder you." Giving a small laugh her eyes followed him. Honestly, she wasn't one to raise her voice unless it was serious. Most of time she kept it soft and smooth to keep the illusion that she wasn't tough. Looking down at the notebook, she spoke. "It's homework, notes about I hate a certain person and then just random writings." Shrugging once more she looked back up at him. "My mind is so not on doing homework." Picking up her bag, she placed the notebook inside before setting it back down on the floor of the stands. The silence in the place was rather different since it never happened. It usually was filled with some short of noise but at the moment it was at peace. Pushing her locks of hair back behind her shoulders she gave him a smile. "Nice to meet you, I'm Rouge." Giving him a curious look, she sat back in her seat. "And what are making up to me again?"

,, Is there a lot of people you want to murder?" He asked with a grin. He himself hated having enemies, and liked to stay on good foot with pretty much everyone - even the ones he didn't really like... But he knew very well that he was different. When she told him it was just homework and packed it away, he shrugged and lost his interest right there. If there was one thing he didn't care for, it was homework. He hated homework, and if he could get away with not doing them, he definetly would. ,, Sucky." He said, watching the ball in his hands for a few seconds. He usually liked just being with someone, but it was different with this girl, Rouge. He didn't know her at all, and yet he had the feeling that he wanted to get to know her better. Her name made him smile - he couldn't help it. A geeky thought came to his mind, as he laughed a bit under his breath. ,, Like in x-men." He commented, not really knowing what else to say. ,, Nice to meet you," he then added, feeling a little out of place. What was it with him today? He felt geeky and awkward, which definetly wasn't something that happened to him everyday. He dropped the ball on his foot, moving it from side to side twice, before kicking it in the air and catching it with his hands. ,, That you're not getting your homework done." He replied, as he took a few steps back, alluding her to follow him. ,, Come on, it'll be fun." He smiled convincingly, actually really wanting her to follow him.

"So many, you just don't know." Rouge laughed before messing with with the zipper on her jacket. Rouge was a rather nice person, she got along with most people. Zach, he was another person she would be nice too. At times, it was nice having 'normal' people around her. Something that she was never around, due to her 'job if that was the right word to use. "You know, I never heard the xmen reference before." Giving him a smile, she just shrugged her thoughts off some. Zach, he was completely different from most people she hung out with. He seem more down to up and not as up tight. It was nice, in Rouge mind at least. She got tired of the tension and craziness she usually surrounded herself with. Standing up, she grabbed her bag and put it on her shoulder."I'm a good girl, my work always get done no matter what." she said in a joking manner. Listening to him, she put her hands into her pockets. "If it's not fun I get to pinch you." Rouge said as she followed him, zipping her jacket up completely, still hiding most of the tattoos that showed with just her shirt.

Zach laughed at her comment, hoping that she was joking. x] He lead the way down the stairs from the stands. ,, Oh, maybe it was a bad idea to throw my ball at you." He joked, looking at her like she was going to kill him every second. Of course he didn't believe that she would, but again, he hadn't met her before. He couldn't really tell if she was joking, when she claimed she hadn't heard the x-men reference. It had been the first thing to pop into his mind, so he didn't really believe that nobody would've had the same thought. He just smiled at her, and didn't say anything since he didn't want to make a fool out of himself. ,, Oh, really?" He quickly looked down at her, taking her body and face in - she didn't look anything like a good, innocent girl, so he had a hard time believing that. ,, Are you sure?" He asked, his eyes narrowed like he was very suspicious. Of course he had caught her joke, he was just playing along. He put his ball into the basket, so it wouldn't look like it'd been taken at all, before walking towards the exit that, as allways, was marked by the little, glowing green sign with the man running towards a door. He held the door open for her, as they walked out. He had yet to figure out, where exactly he would take her. ,, Don't even worry about it, 'cause it will be funny." He promised her, as they walked down the hallway. There weren't a lot of people out in the halls for some reason, but the ones that were out took an extra long look at the two of them. ,, So you up for some ice cream?" He'd had a craving for sweets for the last few days, and now he had the chance for someone to show him where exactly he could buy some. He looked at her, as they spoke, wondering if he could go to his room so he could have a quick shower and change his clothes. He knew how girls could take it, if they were asked home with someone, so he chose his words carefully. ,, Is it okay with you, if I take a shower real quick?" He asked, flashing his pearly white teeth in an incredible, breathtaking smile.
