WHEELS GO ROUND AND ROUND YOU'RE ON MY MIND Oh yes. The carnival. For any kid, it was the best place on Earth. For anyone who was a kid trapped in a grown man's body - like Eli Brady, for example - it was still the best place on Earth. So it was no surprise that Eli chose to take his newly-claimed bride to the carnival when given the opportunity to pick how they would spend their night out. The two of them hadn't been on many dates lately. Well, what Eli considered dates anyway. And he missed that. He missed holding Bridget's hand and walking aimlessly with her, he missed talking to her about pointless things over nice dinners, and he especially missed showing her off to the world. Now that Bridget was so far into her pregnancy, Eli had noticed they hadn't been out much. Sure, they went out to shop and occasionally pick up unhealthy fast food when Bridget didn't feel like cooking or braving Eli's inedible creations.
But, Eli had been reading a lot of baby books and parenting was starting to become his specialty. He couldn't count the amount of times a book had advised young couples to go on special dates when the woman moves along in her pregnancy because a woman can become insecure and her self-esteem can drop. Eli would have none of that. Even if Bridget hadn't shown any signs of such a change, Eli wasn't going to take any chances. He had woken up that morning, cooked his usual breakfast, and left a note (as always) to his girl wife that they were going out tonight. A few hours of work and a change of clothes later, Eli was ready. He was dressed in his usual plaid, a headband securing his mess of curls in place. Nothing new. But his favorite - and, actually, new - piece of clothing rested on his left ring finger. Eli hadn't taken the wedding band off since the day it was put on. He didn't plan on changing that habit. Thankfully the carnival was close by and it didn't take them very long to arrive. Even more thankfully, it seemed Bridget hadn't been totally against his idea. Eli knew he chose childish places to spend his free time, but until he was holding his little baby in his arms, Eli was still the kid around in their little family.
"I've been wanting to come to this place since we moved here," he announced as he stepped out of the car and waited for Bridget to join him. Eli was partially excited to be surrounded by such bright lights and noises, and equally excited that he got to flaunt his new wife around the place. It was their first outing as a married couple. At least, an outing like this anyway. Eli wanted everyone to see Bridget's growing belly so he could point and proudly exclaim - "look what I did!" Yeah, Eli was a giddy father-to-be. "So I was thinking, we could go on that flying carousel swing thing. Boost your heart-rate up and it might induce labor,"
Eli announced, for he had, in fact, read a lot about such things. "Get that little guy - or girl - out sooner so Daddy can have his skateboarding partner," he glanced over at Bridget sheepishly, certain she was still unhappy with him for finding out the gender of the baby despite her wishes otherwise. He hated keeping a secret from his wife, but Eli had begged the doctor to tell him. He hated surprises. Though by now, Eli should certainly be used to them. I’M JUST BEING MYSELFplus i gotta be me too • • • • • • • • • • • BABY DADDY ! Bridget had to admit, she did miss the dates Eli and herself went on so frequently. On most days when he wanted to do something she was simply too tired to, since growing a baby was no easy task for her body to do. Now at twenty-four weeks, her swelling belly was now very noticeable and the baby inside of her was quite active. Bridget was now able to tell when little Bandicoot was sleeping, cherishing those moments of relief from the kicking and moving the tiny baby instead on doing. Bandicoot was very much Eli’s child with how active he or she seemed to be. Bridget simply felt too tired to do much, but despite that she was glad that Eli had chosen to do something today. She did kind of miss being able to talk aimlessly, holding his hand and talking about everything and nothing all at the same time. Though, she did highly enjoy snuggling on the couch with Eli’s hands glued to her stomach. Bandicoot seemed to enjoy it too, since that was when the little thing seemed to sleep the most. Bridget saw nothing wrong with snuggling up close to Eli’s absolutely perfect chest and watching old movies until they both passed out, but a date would definitely be nice.
The woman could never get tired of the notes Eli left her every morning, but the nearly inedible breakfasts could go. She admired the thought and effort that went into them, but Eli really couldn’t cook at all. Practice did not make perfect in his case, but she always ate it anyways. She had built an immunity to his horribly tasting breakfasts, and it was better than having to cook for herself. She really wasn’t feeling up to that this morning, so she ate his poorly made breakfast and pocketed his note to add to the others later. After a very soothing bath she put on a pair of maternity jeans and a grey top that flowed off of her swollen stomach and around her hips. A heart locket with two tiny photographs in it was around her neck, one half a picture of her and her parents and the other with her, Eli and her sister. Bridget may seem cold and distant at times, but she was a very sentimental person. She couldn’t help but keep a little piece of her family everywhere she went, loving each opportunity she got to show them off to the people she met. She also, of course, wore her two favourite thing sin the world: her engagement ring and her wedding band. After about an hour spent in the office she now shared with Eli developing and printing photos for her clients she put on one of Eli’s hoodies. Bridget’s long hair was left down and slightly wavy today, all ready to do whatever it was Eli had planned for them.
Going to childish places like the Disney Store and carnivals was nothing knew to Bridget. After dating him for six, almost seven years, she was used to Eli’s immaturity. It was refreshing for her, who didn’t know how to have fun on her own. She hadn’t exactly had the most conventional childhood in the world, so being able to do these fun and silly things with Eli was a nice change. He had given her a lot of the mundane things she had missed out on when she had been travelling the world instead of having a normal childhood. She couldn’t help but be a little excited as he drove her to one of his two hundred favourite places in the world, getting out once the car stopped and instantly lacing her hand in his. “I’m surprise you haven’t taken me here sooner,”
she admitted, tucking some of her long hair behind her ears. “Jazzy is going to be angry you didn’t invite her,” she smirked as she teased him. Jasmine probably wouldn’t mind so long as she got a promise to go later, though the girl would probably prefer to go with a group of her own friends which was alright with Bridget. She rose a brow at his suggestion before laughing and shaking her head. “Nice try, but it’s not happening. I’d like Bandicoot to be born when he or she is ready,” she informed him with a small shake of her head. [/blockquote] words: 728 outfit: clicky! lyrics: gnarls barkley, transformer notes: - - -[/blockquote]
