Say hey to Chester Matthias Ericsson, the religious country nerd. Preferred to be called Chester, he is the type of guy you rarely meet at the wild Californian lands. Raised to be religious, he doesn’t drink, smoke, do drugs and even, you name it, sex. He tries to avoid them at all cost but temptation is always around the corner, lurking for him to give up and just give in. Though, he still goes to parties and party like a rock star minus the alcohol, the drugs and the girls. So get ready for the “I’m religious” kind of stuff and just try to get along with him, yeah?

He’s a real sweetheart but he doesn’t find himself attractive at all or even likeable because of how he was raised and act. He loves being a nerd and being dorky is what he does best. In fact, he is proud of it and adores all nerds. All he wants to do is just put a smile in someone’s face and at least make a difference, big or small, in someone’s life. That could make him feel better, like waaay better about his-self. Yeah, he’s really insecure about himself and wishes that he wasn’t like this at all. He is always known as the shoulder to cry on back home so feel free to make him your confidant and he’ll surprise you in many ways. He is never judgmental nor prejudice in any way.

He writes music every spare time he has and you could sometimes see him wandering around the beach or the woods or maybe just sitting at the park, trying not to be awkward. He’d play for shows or just perform at the streets, just to share his music.

Partners in Crime | Friends

Everyone needs a friend. He gets along quite well with anyone, if they would respect his choice of being who he is. He would really bond with someone who has the same interests with him, let’s say.. music. But again, he’s good with anyone and he loves making friends.
Though, he would really love to have a best friend(s) like super close ones. Some do say that opposites attract but I’m just saying here. As long as you think they’d get along in a way. So that’s good.

Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones | Rivals / Enemies

Would he really have anyone who’d hate him? I guess so. Since he is religious and sticks to his traditional ways. He forgives and forgets but when things get nasty, he could get really vicious himself. He tries not to get into fights and try to get along with anyone. He’s a real softy and well, a nerd.

Rhythm of Love | Lover(s)

Touchy touchy. Chester doesn’t think he’s attractive at all. So he’s a little dorky around girls but once he clicked with that person, he’d do just fine. He is a loyal person and would treat his girl right. To him, cheating is a sin and love is always pure. A real sweetheart knows what to do to protect his girl and make her happy. But unlike his peers, sex before marriage is a no-no to him. But if you could pull his strings, he might just give in. [ though I can assure you it’s tough.]

Alright, so i could totally see these two not liking each other at first. His religiousness would go against the things that Alaska jokes about. But, i also think the whole mystery of who he really is behind his religion would intrigue her enough to try and give it a chance. these two could become friends, but i could assure you she may be more than he could handle. She's quite the harlot. So, maybe we could have them with a little enemy to friends plot? Maybe things will change if they're at this party and they get stuck outside together maybe to talk? That might be the only time anyone would get a sober Alaska conversation :P

I think the love/hate relationship would really work. Chester would have a major culture shock since everyone he knows is religious back home. Maybe he would try to convince her to be straight and stuff like that. She could blast it in his face since she is a feisty one. They could even drive each other against the wall. But Chester is open-minded and he's able to accept her for who she is. That maybe would happen during the project. They can be friends, best buds or maybe something more.. but we'll see how it goes. :D

So yeah, how bout that? it sounds exciting already.

Whoa. So I just read her profile. She is absolutely the opposite of Chester. To be honest, he would be a little terrified of her. Mind you, it's just a super big culture shock for this small town boy. I think he would avoid her because of the alcohol, drugs and such but curiosity would get the best of him. Since he's out of his shell, he would really want to know what happened to her, like how she came to be. They both could share their stories and they would get along somehow. She could tease him being religious and he would return the favor.

They can meet at a party since I guess that's the only place they'd run into. Verdict? :D

I like this idea <3 maybe the only way they get stuck talking to each other is they get locked outside on a porch together with no way out until later, so they figure that they can talk just to pass time by? I'd love to get this started :D though i hate to admit that my muse level for Alaska isn't HUGE, but it makes do if you don't mind. <3

First of all, let me say it's very refreshing to have a religious character! I've literally never seen one in all my years of RPing :O

Chester is super cool, and Nate would probably agree. Nate drinks, but doesn't smoke or do drugs, so they could bond there. While Nate is outwardly a politically incorrect asshole sometimes, he just thinks he's being funny and is actually really sensitive. While opposites are supposed to attract, I can see these two getting along very well anyway. Maybe they won't hang out in the bar that Nate frequents, (although he does drink alcohol for taste...) but they can bond over music. Nate did a little musical theatre in high school but quit after sophomore year. Now he's more into music journalism, which is nice because it would give a chance for Chester and Nate to work together without being competitive. Although I could see a squabble erupt because Nate doesn't really believe in a deity, while not staunchly atheist. Although he was raised Jewish, and he's really into the cultural aspect of that which could be interesting. Thoughts?

yeees! I love it c: I think these two are going to be a lot of fun in RP c: I like the idea of him trying ton convince her to be straight too! haha she is so feisty she would be all WTF STFU! But I can see them being friends as long as he does end up accepting her for who she is, and she'll respect his musical talents a lot. c: I like the idea of maybe exploring these two a little more as well, on a 'more than friends' level, if interested. ;D It would be a fun one to RP out, considering it could do something for his ego since he feels unattractive and the practically lesbian girl went for him, and it would throw Jack for a loop too. ;) But we'll see how that goes if you want to ;P <3 Either way this is going to be fun!

That’d be cool. So we’re going to start them from enemies to friends, right? I hope you don’t mind to start it off first. Since I have no idea where they could meet or if we’re just going to start from the “stuck-at-the-porch-scene”. So yeah, don’t worry though. It’s my first time going out to the rp world without my friends helping me out. We can go slow or any other way, we can do fine. :D

Haha. Thanks. I just want to put up something different. I’ve always like to play weird characters.

Nate is someone Chester really needs. They have the mutual understanding for each other even from the start. He would be glad that there is someone like Nate in Outlier that he could relate to. They could go to the bar together if Nate wanted to. I mean, he could just order something simple like orange juice. As long it makes Nate feel comfortable. I can see they could work through music too; maybe they’d have this senior-junior relationship. He could be a great mentor for Chester since he should know a lot about music from journalism. And about the deity stuff, maybe he might pop up the question about Nate’s beliefs and they would have a disagreement about it. But later on, Chester would know better about Nate’s views and that may help him understand him better. I can see that they would have this bromance. I mean, they really do clicked together, don’t they?

HAHA! I absolutely adore Chester and Gabi would absolutely hate him! I think they could meet at a party and Gabi being the occasional druggie at parties he'd probably see her taking some speed/amphetamine in the corner -> And maybe he'd go all religious and preach about how dangerous drugs are and so. And she'd hate him from that moment because she hates when people don't accept her as she is.

Here we have a character who'd love knowing Chester. BUT she's a girl with bright red hair, piercings and tattoos so I believe that even though her intentions are pure and true and friendly, he'd be scared. And she'd hate that and try to make him like her and give her a chance - like desperately! She's like the biggest sweetheart you'll ever know. So if he decides to open up and talk to her, they would probably get along well :3

Haha. Another culture shock for Chester. He's always getting culture shocks. :O

oh well, Chester would really start preaching and convincing her about choosing the right path and yadda yadda. Cuz he's just like that. :D But he's the type of person to accept people for who they are and eventually will try to understand Gabrielle's situation. According to his religious views, it's wrong to judge. But I bet he'd annoy her a lot. Maybe he'd put on his judge-y face without even realizing it.

Emilie | Chester

First, I just want to say that I just love Emilie. :D

You're right of Chester being scared at first. He just had too many bad experiences with people around there for now. He just wanted to fit in. Chester would assume that Emilie is one of those people that would really hate on him so he tries to distance himself. But maybe when she shows him a different side of her, a very cheerful positive side. He'd adore her. Since she is from the circus, she must be really cool and Chester would really like to know lots more about her. :D
