It had been Caine's intention and their plan for Mika to spend the night, but not necessarily spend the night with him. They usually would smoke and drink, laugh and talk sitting on the couch as they had been previously and then call it a night or just pass out and fall asleep. But, this was different. She was in his bubble, his space and he didn't push her away. He was a man, she was a woman. The math was natural, if not law and the tension that existed in that previous moment had never appeared between them before. But, the key thing in this situation was that Caine did not respond negatively to it, he didn't shun it out with petty excuses for himself. "she's like a sister to you.". Kind of, but she wasn't.
Mika was his best friend, this was a huge risk to that. The drinking and the smoking, however, pretty much had him thinking on a path of singularity. Mika sitting on his lap, his arms around her and holding her close to him felt natural. She was already his best friend, she knew him as good as his siblings did, if not better. If anything she understood him, yea she did. This was certainly a strange realization, but one that was probably all combined from random thoughts from drinking and smoking and the pills. It really wasn't something he could think of on his own or with a sober mind, he was too miserable for such optimism. When he let his hand travel to her face, such a simple act but one of such intimacy. It had never been more than a hug, maybe an arm around the shoulder. It was....nice.
This was definitely a moment, and there was heat. Again it was all math, it was so simple but in the morning it would be so complicated. He wasn't worried about the morning, obviously Caine wasn't one for consequences as you saw his lifestyle. It was out of character for him, he'd hook up with girls at bars and parties, but he hadn't cared for one in a long time. And that one had broken his heart, he was afraid. Afraid of so many things but his body was telling him to go, just go. She mumbled something but he wasn't listening because all that was on his focus was her, her face right in front of his, her blue eyes and her breathing that he could hear. Her lips came into contact with his and again, there was no immediate negative response or impulse.
Well, there was an impulse, but one of moving forward, not back. It was a short first kiss, but it was good. There was a moment pause, the moment of truth like if all of a sudden it was up to him. After she kissed him he felt like his heart rate jumped a ten fold, but he just listened to his body his impulse and the hand that was behind her neck brought it closer to him and he kissed her again. Not roughly, he didn't want to just jump her suddenly and though he started the kiss slow he made it deep. If he could analyze this or if his sub conscience could take a step back and verbalize what it was observing it would comment on how it was intimate and different than his other hook ups.
Even with the booze and drugs involved it was different, normally he'd get high or drunk and find a girl and that was that. This was his best friend he was talking about, they were connected on that platonic best friend friendship level that didn't happen often for him. He trusted her, enough to even mention why he'd gotten drunk that morning. Any body else would have not been privilege to such information, but she was and that meant something. Trust was a very important issue for Caine, lose that and you'd lose him forever. The kiss lasted longer this time and after a non-specific amount of time he pulled back to breath, couldn't continue without oxygen, of course. If she didn't want to he would stop, but he had to admit he did want to and he hoped she would reciprocate.
Otherwise that'd just be awkward, and would really ruin the night. His thoughts were all in a twist, he'd hardly reacted like this before but he wasn't sure with part of his body was controlling him or in what combination. Either this was right, or his male instinct was kicking in at this, which was probably the case, if the opportunity presented itself why not take it. But then again, why worry himself with such matters. He'd ruin the moment by over thinking it and he didn't want that to happen either. After he felt like they both might have caught some of their breath he leaned in again to kiss her, again he didn't want to overwhelm her but it was hard to hold back at this point, the arm that was around her waist pulled a little tighter. It sure felt warm in here.
x| i'm so tired, went to the beach today :D Only in southern california can you go to the beach in January. xD

Mika was .. inexperienced. With feelings, that is. She hasn't really been in a relationship before, she's never really felt strongly about a person before. She's had one 'one night stand,' but has had several boyfriends over the span of her life. But a level of deep emotion was never reached, the relationships never lasting more then three months. Basically enough time for Mika to find something she really doesn't like about a person and use it as an excuse to escape. So yeah, Mika has issues with commitment. But her actions right now - was it cause for commitment? Or was it just a drunken one night stand that she was going to regret in the morning? Mika had no idea, her mind not really focused on tomorrow. The task at hand was to calm this overwhelming sensation in her body to relax, because she wasn't sure she could handle it at the moment.
It was such a strange feeling. It was like she was racing around yet staying exactly where she was. The weed and alcohol that was plaguing her system only enhanced the feeling and momentum that the two had going. She was sure her sober mind was screaming at her to walk away right now before she does anymore damage. Just get up, apologize, and walk out of Caine's apartment. Text him a few days later, talk it over and forget it happened. Save the Friendship. Of all the thoughts floating around in her mind, the only one that was really making the most sense was saving their friendship. She had a horrible feeling that this night, this evening was going to change their relationship forever. Her mind was screaming no, But everything else said yes. Including her heart, and that had to have something to do with it.
This entire situation just felt right. Like it was years in the making - which it could have very easily been. It may have been a scene out of a crappy romance novel taht you buy off a street corner vender, but It was Mika's. No - it was Mika's and Caine's. If she was sober, she could think of a million different reasons why Caine is a wonderful guy. She could name all the reasons why this should happen as well as a thousand reasons why it shouldn't. Mika has aways been a women of science - one that didn't rely on feelings or hunches. She didn't believe two people could stay together forever, at lest not happily. But right now none of those things mattered. She was so close to Caine, she just placed a kiss on his lips, and she was waiting patiently to see that if tonight maybe - just maybe - he'd make her change her mind. Make her think that two people could stay together forever happily. Make her believe, even if just for one night.
She was comfortable. It was nice - nicer then Mika expected. Maybe this is what it is like - actually having an intense feeing for the person you are so close with. Her feelings for Caine were always purely friendship - at lest, so she thought - but right now it seemed like this just had to happen. Like fate, only not as corny. Chances are this will turn out badly in the morning, but right now the two were to tangled up in each other's company that nothing else in the world was going to take their attention way. Not the pounding rain outside or the dull roar of thunder in the distance. Just his eyes. Mika knew Caine's experience with girls - she's never seen him in a serious relationship nor has he ever told her of his romance battle wounds. She was taking a chance with him, and she knew it from the start. But it was a welcomed chance.
When Caine kissed Mika back, she felt her stomach turn over on itself. Her nerves mixing in with the alcohol and weed made it even more apparent. His kiss wasn't rough or forceful, but it was passionate. Mika never received a kiss like that before - sure, she's made out with a few guys but never has she experienced a kiss like that. There was actual feeing behind it, and Mika wanted more. The kiss lasted longer then the first one, but as soon as it ended Mika was disappointed. It was like it was gone too soon. She did take the lack of to catch her breath, but found her lips locked to his once more when he pulled her a bit closer to him. She went with he momentum, wrapping her arms around his neck and bringing the kiss in deeper, making it a bit more hostile but still keep the emotion and drive behind it.
Mika wasn't sure where the evening was going to end up, and she wasn't sure if she would be here when he awoke in the morning. To be perfectly honest Mika wasn't sure of anything right now. She just wanted more of Caine, that was certain. Mika wasn't sure where this desire was coming from, but that was something she would sort out later. There is one thing she couldn't do anything about, and it was how much Mika loved being in Caine's arms.

The fact of emotions was not just a trivial subject for Caine. Emotionally, he had a hard time opening up. In the deep back part of his mind he had to convince himself it was just physical because anything more than than would have just ruined it for him, or at least just stopped him completely in his tracks. While his lips were connected with hers he didn't think about it, it just came naturally, like it was supposed to work. Like this whole time the jigsaw puzzle that had been dumped from the box finally had pieces fitting together, and all those pieces of the picture that seem so dark and foreboding were actually forming something nice, something optimistic. He had to stop being so negative, pessimism clearly never got you anywhere and being a realist about everything just made life disappointing and worthless. This felt different, it stirred a feeling inside him and it was intense. This was just physical, he had to tell himself. Because, well it was. Maybe surreptitiously this had been brewing the whole time. Not just the need or the want but just the fact that he was a guy and she was a girl and they spent a lot of time together. Caine felt good with her, and he didn't have a doubt about it.
His head was spinning, the moment had completely overtaken everything. For all he knew his kitchen could have been on fire he wouldn't have noticed a thing, the only thing here for him was her. She's your best friend, the little good angel on his shoulder would have reasoned with him. But, the little devil on the other side rationalized, it was bound to happen. Such a topic was not one he generally brought up in conversation with a best friend, it was one of those things that occurred in said order: act, then think about it, then figure it out. The rules weren't set on these things and that made it tricky. Caine sure knew how to complicate things, he was just complicated and everything in his life just was complex. It was like watching a cheesy romance movie, boy and girl best friend don't do more than hug for years and then all of sudden they have sex? Then what? Did they just smile in the morning, admit their eternal love for one another and live happily ever after? This was hard The Notebook, and clearly lacked the epicness of Titanic. Things never played out that way, especially not for Caine. There was always one speed bump after another, and he just braced himself for the journey.
Caine had always cared about Mika, but he always figured it in the platonic sense. Clearly, this was a little bit less than platonic and hardly even best-friend like. His heart was beating out of his chest with a combination of 'what was going on?' and lust. That's what it was, right? Just lust, a physical need. They were both human beings, and these physical needs had to be met one way or another. Caine was almost convincing himself of purely lustful intentions, the thought of emotions and such things were terrifying to him even with the drunken haze swirling in there with his thoughts or lack thereof. Caine felt her arms wrap around his neck and he could only kiss her more, not so much forcefully as it was inviting. Although he had this animal desire to grab her and throw her down on the couch or whatever and have his way with her he held back, but not before he sat back against the couch putting his own hands around her waist and maneuvering her ever so slightly to straddle him, though not breaking lip contact. Caine wasn't thinking about tomorrow, he wasn't thinking about today even, just right now.
The alcohol and the weed made it easy for him not to even really think about it . Sober, had he been in this very situation, he would have been thinking about it too much. It's one thing to sleep with a girl you hardly knew or picked up at a bar or a party, but this one was his best friend. Somebody he actually care what he said to and what he did to, sober he might have been too anxious about meddling it up. She deserved better than him, he was a nobody. A drug addicted miserable man who didn't see a point in living. At that present moment, however, whatever emotions he couldn't decipher or whatever was fueling him was living, did she cause these emotions in him? His hands traveled from her waist and to her sides, traveling under her shirt where could feel her hot skin under his hands. It was difficult to hold back a little, slow down before one of them got whiplash, the alcohol was telling to go, the weed relaxed him and the pills let him do whatever he wanted. She just fit, it just worked, the pieces of whatever puzzle they were in were fitting together, though the circumstances were hardly romantic and they both weren't even quite aware reasonably of what they were doing. Sober actions were different' than intoxicated ones.
Caine preferred the intoxicated ones, because this was a bold. It was in character but out of character for him and possibly her as well. A sober Caine would have realized the very high possibility that he was just filling some emotional void with whatever was in front of him, the last day half had just drained him of whatever will he had left. What was he doing dragging Mika down with him? But, Caine was not sober. So he didn't think about those things, he didn't think about ethics or any of that junk. He just thought about her, the lustful filter currently in his brain and the lack of thinking he was really doing and how much he wanted this, because it felt right.
i didn't even realize how much I wrote xD. haha, it really doesn't have to be that long. I just have muse from not being able to fall asleep either. Yay for insomnia (:

It was the start of Mika's sophomore year in school, and she couldn't be more ecstatic to be back in the United States. After a rather dull summer of good behavior and lack of drugs, Mika's first stop when she got back was to visit her primary dealer. It took little to no time for Mika to get everything set up in her new dorm room, and before she really knew what was going on she was sending text messages out to old friends, requesting their presence at her room - Caine's included. Caine Seymour, Mika's dealer was a pretty swell guy. She didn't know him very well, but he was always a good time. That and he was a yummy piece of eye candy. But, to Mika's demise it seemed her friends were too busy doing school related things to actually come over and spend some time with her. She understood that -the first weekend of being moved in there is always crazy stuff happening on campus. Only one person responded saying they'd be there shortly, and it was Caine. Mika assumed that it was because a deal was involved, but maybe she could convince him to stay for a while. After all, she did had a nice large bottle of Vodka that she brought form home.
Sometimes having an influential father work to Mika's advantage. She is able to get away with murder for the most part, unless her father hears about it. She was sure he would eventually find out she stole a bottle of Vodka from his cabinet (especially because she got toe good vodka), but she was hundreds upon hundreds of miles away. There was no way her father was going to fly all the way here just for a bottle of alcohol. Hearing a knock at her door, Mika was surprised Caine had gotten there as quickly as he did. Maybe he was already on campus .. she thought to herself, opening the door to catch is beaming face looking back at her. She invited him in and shut the door behind him. She felt like a drug deal out in the hall would bring some attention to her room which was not what Mika wanted. once inside, Mika opened up her bottle and poured herself a glass. She loved not living in a dry dorm. "Care for a shot?" she asked with a devilish grin on her face, handing Caine a shot glass before he really had an option to say no.
Mika still remembered the first night that she spent with Caine under the influence - and it was a sh*tload of fun. They sat around her dorm and got stupid all night until Caine had to run off to sell more drugs. She was surprised she didn't get in a lot of trouble for that night, because if she remembered correctly the two ended up causing some serious havoc when she walked him out of the building. It was strange how quickly things change. How years go by and how relationships blossom into something more then just a friendship. Or more then just a one night stand. It was almost hard to believe what was happening right now, when this time last year Mika called Caine brother-like. He isn't of course - that would just be gross. She aways felt attracted to him, but she never acted on it. At lest not until now.
Amidst the kissing, Mika felt Caine adjust positions to get her in more of a straddling position, which she didn't mind at all. The snogging was kept on a passionate level, not those hallow kisses that everyone seemed to have given Mika. with each kiss it was more electrifying, Mika's tongue begging for entrance every now and then, deepening the moment. Tomorrow when she relfected on the evening Mika would chalk it up to nothing more then the relief of sexual tension between the two. It had to happen sooner or later, right? It was just a lust filled pul from the both of them. It was nature. There was only one thing that was making Mika somewhat nervous, and it wasn't the thought of the morning. Her stomach was filled with butterflies, something she hasn't had happen in a very long time. Was there actually emotion hiding behind there drunken make-out session? Impossible. Mika would have to ignore it if that was the case.
She wasn't fit for a relationship right now. She had too many things she wanted to do, she had far too many things to worry about let alone a boyfriend. Despite how close and comfortable she was with Caine, she still had a fear of men. The result of being Daddy's favorite rag doll. He was suppose to love her yet he hurt her in such a way that was unforgivable. Who is to say another man wont do the same? So in a sense she had a fear of Caine, but not for that reason. She knew he would never hurt her. She wished she could just carry Caine around with her in her pocket and call upon him whenever she saw fit. That and she knew he wouldn't let anything happen to her. It was a safe feeling, one she never wanted to loose. As his fingers grazed over her skin Mika felt a chill run up her spine. Partially because his fingers were cold, but mostly because it was a touch she had been longing for - no matter what the reasons behind it were for, it was nice to finally get something she wanted.
Things never work out of her as she plans, never a happy ending. She only wished that things would turn out like the movies, just this once. In her drunken state, Mika found herself cawing for air as she pulled away from Caine for a moment, the kissing coming to a cease. But it wasn't in a bad manner, at least Mika didn't think so. She placed her forehead against his for a moment, a broad smile on her face as she caught her breath. She moved her nose back and forth upon his, giving him butterfly kisses. She was under the influence - and she loved butterfly kisses. Even more so when she was happy. Mika thought about saying something, but she remained silent. Words always ruin the silence. Instead, she kept her forehead pressed to his as they regained their breath, only to sweep back in and steal another kiss. One tiny kiss lead into another little kiss, Mika & Caine finding themselves back into the throws of passionate snogging.
Deciding in a change of position, Mika let herself fully straddle Caine before falling over to the side, laying on her back on the sofa, pulling him down to her. It was all one fluid motion, Mika making sure that their lips didn't part ways for more then a a few milliseconds. His body pressing against hers, Mika felt the warmth of his body falling onto hers, a feeling that was beyond words to describe.
S T A T U S ; LOVELOVEOVE THIS THREAD. <3 T U N E S : Incubus N O T E S : 8D So, I figured once it starts to get to the point that they're all "LETS TO IT." he can carry/lead her to his bedroom or she can lead him and then we'll leave a little like ..gap. Before it gets too graphic, & we can pick it up the next morning? :3

Caine had never thought about the sense of touch, to feel, as such a tricky thing. It was one thing to feel something, the softness of a dog's fur or the heat from a flame. But, it was a whole other thing to feel something. The only way he knew how to describe it was the enhanced effects that ecstasy or shrooms would give you. Where in the midst of being blindingly high you discovered 'oh my! this blanket is soft!" This wasn't quite like that but it was like Caine could feel everything, inside and out. There was no concrete word to describe it except as pure lust and just need. He wanted her, like it had been building up and all of a sudden it had just been released. It was ironic though, all the other times they had gotten drunk together the most that would happen was that he would wake up and Mika had fallen asleep on his chest or just next to him. That distance had been fine by him, just as long as she was there. But that was it, she was always there for him as he had tried his best to be there for her. All those times had tallied up and gone through its own evolution in himself. She was something more to him, and right now she was everything to him.
That moment though he didn't care if this was a one-night stand or something more. Caine was just blindly moving, just going with it. The more physical contact they made with each other the more it was sure that this was going to happen. Momentarily they would break their kiss for a breathe, but Caine couldn't bring himself to just pause. He'd kiss her cheek and travel to her neck and collarbone where in their confused dumbfounded doubt in the morning there'd be proof that he'd been there though it hadn't necessarily been his goal to leave a mark. Such things as physical proof were a tricky subject for the both of them. The abusive background not only harbored trust issues but the mark of abuse was frightening. Caine had seen Mika all beaten up and it had torn him apart since she didn't deserve that. That was the last thing he wanted to do but they'd be there in the morning, though they weren't meant to be negative at all or hateful. His hands would travel with a mind of their own, he wanted to feel her though without being forceful. Caine let one hand travel to her back where he playfully fiddled with the clasp of her bra, and the other to the front. He undid the clasp, his hand then traveling up to her back just under her neck without being interrupted.
The room was stuffy, and he felt like it was boiling in the room. They were both flushed from all the activity and alcohol and he could hear his heart beating in his ears. There was a pause though, where they just looked at each other only inches apart. She smiled at him and he grinned back, a genuine feeling expressed on his face. Yes, this was what he wanted, he wanted her. Their eyes spoke for them, and the contact of their noses was a simple but strong gesture. It was cute, it was something indescribably Mika-like. It didn't take long for them to get back into it, they both couldn't hold themselves back anymore and if they could have possibly put negative distance between their bodies they probably would have done so already.
There were often times where Caine would decide on actually getting a decent night's sleep without the helpful aid of alcohol, pills or any drugs. It would take some effort but he'd get to sleep and if he was lucky he'd wake up fine though with the strong urge for coffee and his pills since hours had passed without the chemicals in his body, and other times he wouldn' t even end up sleeping the full night. They happened more frequently when he was younger, but a nightmare was a nightmare no matter what age they occurred at. Caine would wake up, his heart racing and skin soaked with sweat, his skin would be pale and he felt like he couldn't breathe. It was terrifying, and it wasn't even necessarily his father even. Just all the years of abuse just left him feeling scared, that's why he turned to drugs as a sanctuary. Because he couldn't handle it on his own, he just couldn't do it. Caine had even been so upset the last few times he'd let himself cry, it had been a sickening experience. One few occasion he managed to find sleep in pills or a drink, though his first instinct eventually became to text Mika and see if she was awake. Just having someone to talk to at that hour was extremely comforting, it had definitely helped him and meant a lot to him though she just thought he was a bored insomniac without a midnight deal.
She moved closer to him, completely straddling him in a quick movement that just so inviting. But then she pulled him close and let him fall on top of her, though not crushing her and he let himself just fit in place for now. Any skin that was exposed and that was touching was on fire and he was almost grateful that somehow he hadn't ripped off his clothes yet, and then again he wasn't. In this position he had a little bit more flexibility and access and his hands seemed to go of on their own again, he was just focused on stimulating as many nerve endings as he could. Caine paused for a moment, placing a quick kiss on her lips as he he sat up slightly. Still he couldn't catch his breathe, there were so many thoughts and sensations blurring through him it was insane. It was it's own high and the only chemicals that were playing outside of the ones already consumed where the ones in his head, the adrenaline was pumping. He pulled his t-shirt off over his head in a fluid motion, tossing it aside and the lack of that restraint certainly felt better. It was hard to pause though, so he didn't waste any time as he leaned back down and kissed her again. One of his hands traveled down he let his fingers trail down her stomach before he started fiddling with the button of her pants. Thank God she wasn't wearing a belt or he just would have been more frustrated.
At this point it was clear what was happening, this wasn't just some intense make out session and this was going to happen. Caine wasn't sure what the point of no return had been, it could have been the first kiss or after that. It was certainly a better outcome for the night than he had planned, for one thing he wasn't alone. And he was glad, for once he didn't' feel that longing loneliness that always followed him around like a sad rain cloud. The world was revolving around them. The back of his mind woke up for a second, stopping on the topic of venue if they wanted to be more comfortable and he really didn't have a habit of keeping a rubber in the living room. Generally he planned ahead more, but the spontaneity was great also and felt more comfortable than if they were sober and talking about hooking up because he was a man and she was woman. It helped surpass that awkwardness of how close they were and how they'd even described their relationship as sibling like. Clearly they would say otherwise now. Caine wondered if he could stop long enough to even speak a full sentence anymore, "I think..." Guess not. "...we should move." Just a suggestion, she could take it or leave it or throw it right back.
That being said he stopped for a moment as he sat up again. A slight grin on his face that expressed a good emotion, happiness?, and also suggestiveness. Reluctantly he stood up from the couch, but not before he reached down and using to this chance to add some elegance to their class evening. It wasn't the fireman carry when they were playfully messing around, this was a different purpose. He smiled at her, luckily his bedroom wasn't that far away and he was careful not to bump her into things. He could still walk normally unlike her, it had been her who had landed on him in her drunken moment in the first place.
weeeeeeeeeeee muse. hehe. I think at this point you can skip if you want to, i don't mind either way. :]

Mika was always very good at forgetting things. Forgetting what has happened, pushing unwanted memories from her head so that she wouldn't put emotional strain on herself. There was only one thing she was never able to actually forget, and that was what her father had did to her. Some things you just can't ignore, you just cant put out of your mind no matter how hard you try. I guess, in a sense Mika knew that nothing is ever really forgotten. But she could sure as hell try. This evening with Caine was something Mika was sure was in the works for a while, and though she was still under the influence it wasn't enough for her not to remember. When she awoke in the morning she would remember everything in vivid detail. Every touch, ever sensation that he provided and everything she did to him. It surely would be a night she would never forget, no matter her efforts.
Feeling Caine's hands travel up her shirt and fiddle with her bra clasp she knew they reached the point of no turning back. In her current state, she didn't care. She felt her bra come loose, but didn't remove it from under her shirt. She let his hands travel along her pale figure, trusting him with every singe touch. He wasn't forceful, but rather respectful of her. Like he didn't want to force himself onto her, but at this point she was sure he realized that this was happening as much as she did. She could see it in his eyes. They had that same look that she was sure hers had. Desire. They broke for only a moment when Caine Removed his shirt, Mika admiring his relatively nice figure before they got back into the heat of the moment. His bare skin felt so natural against hers, the heat of the two being in such close contact made this more then just a one night stand. At lest to Mika it would be, she couldn't speak for Caine.
She knew Caine cared about her. It was fact, just as she cared about him. But she knows how he is with women. He's shy. But he gets women. Hell, she's heard stories of him sleeping with a women in the alley she just found him in a few hours ago. This could be just another hook-up to him. And the thought of it somewhat scared Mika. It could mean nothing to him. Mika removed such petty thoughts form her head. Caine was a good person, and she knew he wouldn't want to hurt her. But sometimes, things like this just happen. She didn't care of his intent, not anymore. Since they first kissed this evening her mind was fluttering with possibilities. But now, she eft the thoughts behind. He was the only person in the world right now. Nothing matter but them.
Mika felt Caine's hands travel to the top of her jeans, his fingers gently dancing with the button. Mika wondered if the two were going to change where they were - what if his siblings come home? This was happening, and there was no stopping it. When Caine mentioned for the two to move, the first time they spoke since this began. She smiled at him, nodding. "You need to get out of my mind Caine," she said, letting him know that it was ok. That she wanted this as much as he did. Though she was sure it was completely her fault to begin with - she is the drunken fool who fell on his lap and then kissed him. When he first stood up, Mika was a little confused, but then it was all cleared when Caine picked her up. She gigged as he did so, finding the gesture cute. When entering the doorway to his room, Mika was glad that they made it through the door without any casualties. When safely in his bedroom, Mika was placed on his bed where the moment continued without hesitation, Mika unbuttoning his pants with a quick motion of her fingers.
- - - - - - - - - -
Mika awoke to the sound of thunder rumbling outside, a headache much more aware of her surroundings then she was. She winced, her naked body laying underneath the sheets of a trusted alley. At first she wasn't exactly sure where she was, but the moment she turned over and saw Caine's sleeping body next to hers, she covered her mouth almost out of shock, every memory of what just occurred replaying through her head over and over again. She immediately looked at the clock - 2 AM. She sat up carefully to not wake Caine, getting up out of his bed and examining the area. Their clothes lay scattered on the floor, removed within the heat of passion - or alcohol&drugs. Mika wasn't sure which one it was. She couldn't believe what just happened, and she wasn't sure she wanted to be around when Caine awoke.
It was rude, of course but it was how Mika is. She does one of two things when she finds herself in a position she doesn't know how to handle : Ignores it, or runs. Right now, running seemed like the best idea. She remembered ever single detail, and it was sending her on an emotional roller coaster. They were drunk, stoned, and together they were all alone. She was so careless. They had such a wonderful friendship, and she had to go f*ck it up. Her mind was racing with thoughts of what was going to happen, how Caine would react when he awoke to find she was no longer laying next to him. Mika has never been left in the middle of the night to wake up to no one, but she has done it on several occasions - with Adam she did, and with other boyfriends she has. It must have been an awful feeling, waking up alone when you didn't fall asleep that way. She was heartless at times. But this time it was different. She was scared.
Sitting on the edge of his bed still, Mika continued thinking as lighting flashed in the room. She glanced over her shoulder at Caine, who was still sleeping thankfully. She smiled lightly at his peaceful disposition - at lest it appeared that way. He could have been having the worst nightmare ever and she wouldn't have been able to tell. She didn't want to do this to him, but she needed to leave. She pushed a stray piece of hair from her eyes, looking out the window in his bedroom. Still raining. Getting home is going to be fun .. she thought to herself, wishing she just spent the night without this happening. Though, it was kind of .. nice waking up next to him. Warm underneath the covers - it was nice not to be alone for once. Even more so because it was Caine, someone she always loved being around. But it was because they were best friends, nothing more. Right?
Finally getting to her feet, Mika looked around for her underwear and bra. Her underwear was conveniently next to the bed, but her bra was missing in action. Thats right, he took that off in the living room .. she thought, putting her underwear on and quietly passing into the living room where she spotted her bra near the sofa. She picked it up quickly and put it on, eyes traveling over to the sofa where it all began. She stared at it in disbelief, her eyes floating over to his shirt that rested on the floor. She knew she'd be paying for this in the morning, she shouldn't be surprised. Walking back into Caine's bedroom to gather the rest of her clothing, Mika looked around and gathered them all together near the bed where she was about to start getting dressed. But she stopped, sitting down on the side she was sleeping on and getting lost in thought once more.
There is only one thing that Caine never saw of Mika's abuse, and that was the rather nasty scars that now rest on her back from her father's belt. She remembered his hands traveling up her back when he removed her bra, wondering if he noticed them. She didn't noticed his hands upon them, which was surprising because it was something she was so self conscious about. But he didn't say anything, and she wasn't going to ask if he noticed. Her back was to him now, Mika's mind trying to make the most logic of the situation. It was just lust. No emotion. No strings attached. Everything will go back to normal and we'll forget this ever happened. I hope. God, I need to get out of here.
S T A T U S ; finished! sorry for the wait xD Three cheers for muse! <3 T U N E S : Darkest hour N O T E S : So she isn't completely dressed yet, but she's getting there. xD Her underwear&bra looks something like this.

Had Cain not taken that nap earlier he would have been pretty much completely knocked out. And not like super tired knocked out, but too much alcohol and chemicals knocked out to where you could have pushed him off the bed and he would have curled up on the ground snoring. Then again nothing would have happened had he not woken up, no life changing experiences here just sleep. The thunder was loud, or at least magnified as a hangover would have, how many hours had it been. He was in that wake up state, where if he really wanted to he could just drift back into dreamland and sleep, or he could just lay there thinking until he finally decided to open his eyes. His first emotion was happiness at not another nightmare, but instead he felt....good. It had been such a vivid dream, and when he thought about it more it actually completely woke him up when the woman's face in his dream finally became clear. Mika? There was another roll of thunder and he opened his eyes slowly. Where he layed on his bed, on his stomach pretty much hugging his pillow he could see the door and the little bits of flashing light that came through his window against it.
It took him another second to realize he wasn't dressed, or didn't have any clothing on under his blanket and that his head actually kind of hurt. Usually he'd just reach over to the nightstand next to his bed and he had pills in the drawer. His clock was still blurry, the bright red letters just screaming at him until he could decipher the early morning hour. There was sense of realization as he scanned the ground and all the scattered clothing articles and whatnot, it just told him a story in the little flashes of light that came from the lightening. Holy shit. That had actually happened? Fuck. Caine finally lifted his head up, lifting his upper body up with his arms as his eyes were still kind of focusing on the darkness of the room. She was sitting on the other side of the bed her back to him, she must have heard him moving by now. Fuck. He'd just slept with his best friend. This wasn't some chick he'd picked up at the bar, this was his best friend. What does one do after this? What do you even say? For a moment though he was relieved. The second worst thing that could have happened was that he'd just had a sexually explicit dream about his best friend and they were actually just friends in real life.
Caine's eyes were focused now, but he still didn't say anything. It looked like she had started to get dressed, trying to find her clothing against the mess already on the floor of his room. He looked at her, took in her figure though all he could see was her back, her scarred back from her years with her father. Caine wasn't phased, he had his own scars from growing up and could appreciate their meaning more than most people. But, then he remembered he felt them last night, and he hadn't cared but been careful, at the time it hadn't really clicked. Where did they go from there? Yes, he cared about her, but this was just sex right? They'd just used each other for some fun and then they went back to normal right? Or could they? "Hey...." He muttered, just at least to get her attention and let her know that he was awake and had caught her trying to sneak out of his place before he'd realized what happened. There were certainly a lot of clever things you could say, but he wasn't even sure where they stood right now, so better not risk it. His head hurt, he needed something for it, but he'd wait a second. It could wait.
In the light he could see that her undergarments were red, a detail he hadn't quite picked up last night just because after they'd gotten to his bedroom there really hadn't been any slowing down for either of them. Caine wondered if he should feel guilty, was this his fault? Did he take advantage of her? Oh God. If he had he wasn't sure if he could live with himself if that was true. Caine may have been part of that party drug scene were all the bad people were but even he knew that such an action was a crime, it wasn't right, it wasn't fair to anybody. "You alright?" If Caine had hurt her he didn't know what he would have done, probably just tried to flush the guilt away with some drug or chemical and hate himself, and then she'd hate him too. Who would he have then? Caine decided to sit up, sitting on his edge of the bed where he looked around for his boxers or at least his pants. He spotted his pants next to the bed on the floor and put them on quickly so when they did finally decided to talk to each other he wouldn't be bare ass naked still. He sat back down on the bed, but still looked over at her. Did she expect this just to disappear? Caine almost hoped it would, he didn't want to ruin anything.
For the moment it was just sex, they had just had a one-night stand and he could move on if he wanted to. But, it was different with girls. They put so much emotion into these things that he was scared about hurting her. Caine rubbed his eyes, they were probably all red from all the drugs and drinking. He opened the drawer of his nightstand where he kept some of his important personal possessions: pills, weed, his wallet and condoms. Shit. Had they used one? All of a sudden there were all these issues popping up, for precaution and considering the situation he poured a few of the painkillers into his hand and threw them into his mouth. Caine might as well been popping tic-tacs or breath mints. The rain was still pouring hard and in the silence that was all he could hear against his window.
no worries! :] just thought i'd get a reply in before work xD. i love spending half the day at work >.>

A comfortable distance was something that little Miss Longley always kept. She wasn't one to go spilling her life story out to many people, and she didn't fall in love. At lest she hasn't yet, but she's had plenty of chances. Plenty of Romances, plenty of boyfriends, plenty of summer flings that ended when she left. So as far as Mika was concerned, love didn't exist. She doesn't know why she keeps trying to find someone to fill the void in her chest, because she was positive she was never going to find it. It was just fantasy, and she wasn't one to go chasing something that isn't real. She's a women of science, not faith. As it stands, a one night stand was nothing for her to get upset about. She wasn't the kind of girl to sleep around, but one or two wasn't the end of the world. It was a stress reliever. She should have been happy that it was Caine and not a complete stranger.
Mika ignored things. It's how she handled every situation that was thrown at her in her life, and things weren't going to change now. She ignored her emotions, she ignored the shitty life she had been dealt and tried to go on and make a better life for not only her, but her sister as well. She was too driven and had too many things to worry about then the fact that she slept with her best friend. It was casual. Now that the tension is no longer there the two can go on with their life, continue with their drug related friendship and things will never change. At lest that is what she will keep telling herself. If you tell yourself something enough times it will eventually become a fact. Mika has done it so many times with so many different topics that this was just another page in her book of Life. It was no big deal, it happened once and it will not happen again. It was just Caine. He was just her best friend, and that was all there was to it. Right?
But for whatever reason, Mika had this longing feeling that just wouldn't go away. As she sat on the side of Caine's bed, half dressed and lost within her own thoughts, she wasn't sure how to handle what she was feeling thinking right now. It was such a strange wave of confusion and concern that Mika just sat still, the dull roar of thunder in the distance some what calming. She rubbed her neck with her hand, feeling a small swollen bump in the side. She knew exactly what it was. A new bruise upon her neck, proof that everything that happened really did happen. She didn't bother getting up to look in the mirror to see the damage done, she would examine it later when she got back to her dorm. Feeling the bed move behind her, Mika looked behind her to see Caine, awake and functional looking in her direction. Well f*ck me .. she thought to herself, hoping to slip out before Caine awoke. Guess I'm not as much of a ninja as I thought.
Out of reaction, Mika went to cover herself up from Caine, but then she stopped herself. No reason for that now really, he's seen every single part of her body at this point. She let out a small laugh, eyes fluttering to the floor when Caine first spoke to her. He heard him get up and a few rustling sounds that sounded like clothes, Caine putting on some sort of clothing - Mika wasn't really paying attention. "Well, this is embarrassing," she said, letting her arms fall onto her knees, which here closed tightly together, legs at an angle. "Here I am trying to sneak out before you even know I was here and you wake up on me," she grinned, a flash of lightning in the window turning Mika's attention over to it for a moment before she turned it back to Caine. He spoke again, asking if she was ok. To be honest no she wasn't, but she wasn't going to let Caine nor herself know that.
Just push it farther and farther into the back of your head.
She smiled, turning around so that she no longer had her back to Caine - it was just plain rude. Besides, they had some talking to so anyways. She sighed, turning around in time to catch him pop a few pills into the back of his mouth and swallow them down. "Yeah, I'm perfectly fine," she told him with a broad smile. There she was, back to normal. She was an expert and wearing her mask. She gave a pondering face, not really sure where to start conversation. After a quiet pause, she finally said something. "So .. do you remember .. y'know. What happened?" she questioned, looking around the room and laughing a bit. "Not that it's any secret really. The evidence is scattered around your room," she said with a small shrug. How awkward.
S T A T U S ; Finally completed! <3 T U N E S : The Valley Arena N O T E S : what a week! ;__; p.s - I may or may not take Caine's sister as one of my characters Lol. Seems like Mika was the only one I could get going. At lest with her I'l have something sorta already. xD

Usually he could talk to Mika about anything if he wanted to, it was just things that he should be talking about never got brought up and the subject never broached. This, however, was just awkward. He wasn't even sure where to start. Did he lighten the moment with humor? What happens next? Caine had never been in a situation like this and never figured that he would be. Normally he'd be in a one night stand situation where they'd move on with their lives and keep that memory in the back of their minds and none of this happened. For him, honestly, sex was just sex. Caine had had relationships before but his trust issues had always gotten in the way or something else did. But, from what he'd heard, girls got all emotionally involved with these things. Caine didn't want things to change, they were good just the way they had been some hours ago drinking and laughing together. Her dragging him from an alley while he was drunk so he wouldn't fall asleep there and then getting high. It wasn't like he saw a lot of his one night stands again or ever really talk to them, Mika was his best friend and he'd gone on and slept with her. Well, damn.
The last real relationship that Caine had been in he'd had his heart broken and thrown back at him. That point in time had also been a peak, a height in his hard drug use which had ended a lovely hospital visit. It was like when Caine was in internal turn moil or emotional trouble he turned to substance abuse to cure his pain, as if alcohol and heroin were band aids he could stitch his heart back up with tape and band aids and move on with his life. That was all drugs were, and like he'd gotten completely drunk yesterday twice and that night he overdosed at age eighteen, that moment he wanted a strong drink and a handful of pills to just not think about it. He avoided these things as he didn't open up to them well. This could be moved on from but he'd probably fuck it up somehow just by being himself. But could you blame them? He was a guy and she was a girl and he was sure that they both had a physical need for sex, it just happened that he had been there and she had been there otherwise it could have whoever else in that moment. It's just sex, he had to tell himself, now they moved on and they would never do it again and now he'd go out and drink a hell of a lot more and find some other one night stand to clear his mind.
She jumped when he moved or made a noise. It seemed that she had been thinking instead of sneaking away like she tried to. Caine wasn't offended or anything, if it had been her place he probably would have done the same thing or at least moved to the couch so they could the blatantly awkward exchange of words they were going to do now. They were both still only half dressed, undergarments and that's it. And Caine, although still thinking about last night, was glad it was dark because she was only half dressed and she was a woman and he noticed, to not make things worse Caine made sure to talk to her face and not her chest, even in the dark. She claimed that she was alright, and he didn't feel like inciting an argument. Was he alright, though? Yea, he was. It was just sex, could have been any girl that had crossed his path that day except his sister. Like he thought about earlier, had it been some other girl and they were both awake right now their options would be to move on, fall back asleep or go for round 2. He doubted any of those options would apply now and though he appreciated a good roll in the sack he would give his best friend the dignity of talking about what happened next.
Caine merely shrugged at her confession. It wasn't a big deal, but he wondered how it would be different if she had managed to sneak out and he woke up alone and wondering what the hell happened last night? She would have that advantage on him by knowing for sure versus him just wondering what his thoughts were telling him. Again, he was glad that he hadn't just had some sexual fantasy dream about his best friend and really nothing had happened because then this would be completely one-sided. Caine had a pretty good recollection about last night, you didn't really forget that. It had only been alcohol and weed so nothing to force his brain just shutting it out like other drugs might have. He simply nodded his head in a yes motion, he sure did remember and she had a point. They clothes had literally been thrown about and though his room wasn't the neatest it was clear what had happened. "Yea." Guess there was a first time for everything, he hated awkward situations. There was a never a clear path to take in these things, he'd just roll with it.
"So...." He couldn't even manage a full sentence, how stupid. "...what now? " They could ignore that this happened and just never bring it up again and he'd avoid getting drunk around for a while or keep his distance when getting high. He'd pop some more pills but who knew how many he'd taken already, no point in ruining the situation even more than it was damaged already. They could cover it up though, band aid or something until they had to address it later. "You don't have to leave." Caine wasn't going to throw her out in the rain, even if it was just a one night stand he wouldn't have done that. "I"ll take the couch, its not big deal." Oh, but it was a big deal. He never imagined it would get to this stage, he figured he and Mika would be friends forever and that was it. If he didn't get such complex emotions involved he didn't get hurt and he hated that ripping feeling in his chest he got when he he'd lose somebody he cared about. That last relationship had really broken him and changed everything, she had been his best friend and girlfriend for a few years and then kaboom. Caine didn't' want to do that again, ever. He didn't want to hurt Mika either, she didn't deserve that and he'd hate himself even more if he did.
i hear ya, dude. totally understand :]
i would totally love you forever! but no pressure (:

The biggest question facing Mika and Caine right now was where to go from here. Their actions were something that couldn't just simply be forgotten, though she had a feeing that Caine wasn't as freaked out about everything as she really was. She wouldn't let herself think that way of Caine, nor would she let herself cause alarm to Caine, who was probably concerned about her well being. Caine was a wonderful person, Mika knew that more then anyone (at lest that is how she felt), and she wouldn't let him feel guilty about herself getting pointless emotions in the way. Mika never knew what his past love life was like, but he never talked about it. Mika tried her best to piece together what may have happened to him, but the best she can come up with is that he had his heart broken by someone he cared about. A lot. Mika can't say she knows the feeling, but she hoped that whatever she did to him it wouldn't effect any possible future relationships for him.
Mika was hoping to slip out before Caine awoke so she could clear her head on her own, no pressure of seeing Caine. It was much easier for Mika to ignore things when she isn't faced with them - it just makes it easier for her to get a level head again. She'd disappear for a day or so, text Caine, they'd talk and then things would be back to normal. But instead, they both sat half dressed and half dumfounded about the situation. Mika grinned when Caine responded about remembering what had happened, Mika realizing it was something that probably was never going to be removed from their memories. As scared as she was for their friendship, the memory was actually one she didn't mind lingering every once in a while. Despite the influence they were under, there was still more then just a drunken lust behind their actions. Mika just .. felt it. She wondered if Caine did too. Pulling her shirt on over her head, Mika removed the thought from her head, not letting herself fall into that trap.
The first thing Mika wanted to do was removed the awkward tension that was around them. She hated awkward moments, as if she wasn't awkward enough as it was. So she continued on acting like things were normal, because that is what she is good at. When he asked what no, Mika wasn't sure how to respond. It was a good question, and depending on Mika's response it could make or break this moment. He left the decision to her ... kind of. If she tells him they are still going to be the best of friends and things would go back to normal and he didn't want that it would be devastating. She was worried, not entirely sure how Caine felt but deciding to roll with the punches. "Well ... You're still my bestest friiieeennd," she said, her attention completely on Caine now. She smiled at him sweetly, trying her best to be Mika-like, and so far it was working. For the most part. "And I don't want to loose you as that .." she started. "It was just sex. I mean it's not like I'm with child," she said with a sly grin, her stomach doing flips. "Things can go back to normal. If you want them to, that is," she added shortly after, pushing a piece of bangs out of her eyes.
Mika was still tired. She yawned, covering her mouth as she watched Caine for a reaction, hoping he wouldn't react badly. She handed it well, right? Didn't throw away the idea of being more then just friends, but made it clear it was easy to go back to being best friends. Mika and Caine have been in close quarters before - so many occasions she has fallen asleep with him on the sofa or woke up cuddled up agains him. She was just that kind of person. When he told her she didn't have to go Mika thought about it for a minute, unsure if she still wanted to stay. Leaving would definitely make things worse, she felt. It was also still raining outside, and his bed was a lot more comfy then the bed in her dorm room. The pros outweighing the cons, Mika didn't even bother putting pants on before she got comfy again in Caine's bed. Under the blankets and sheets once more, Mika curled up to keep herself warm. She smiled at Caine from behind white sheets. "You don't have to sleep on the couch, it's you're bed," she told him, trying to push past the awkward tension. "I'm pretty sure I've slept in the same .. furniture as you more times then I can count," she said, noting that this was actually the first time she fell asleep with him in his bed. "Unless you want me to sleep on the sofa, thats fine too," she said, realizing she might have been forcing him into something that was uncomfortable for him. She sat up again, but still kept herself wrapped under covers.

Things at the moment were going a lot better than he had thought they would. There was that fork in the road where one side was predominantly negative and completely awkward and left them on such strange terms that they weren't even speaking. The other road was this one, slightly awkward at first just because you didn't quite wake up to a situation like this all the time and so far they were good. It was all good. Caine hated these complicated matters of emotions and mixing them with friendships and all that. First off Caine didn't' trust himself in relationships, he was too unstable and implosive that he would probably just end up ruining it anyway. His drug behavior made it worse, you take enough drugs and alcohol and you weren't sure what you were doing, Exhibit A was right now actually. Or any of his one nights stands actually. They were best friends but had never talked about something like thats, it was that grey area they had never touched. Sure he'd talk about girls with her and she'd mention guys to him, but them together? Never had even come up. Though to his sister Mika had the pseudonym of 'his girlfriend' which was only attributed to the amount of time he actually spend with her.
Otherwise he hadn't given it a thought, well that was a lie. Considering their genders, he had, but the more he grew to know her and befriend her that idea just didn't' pop up again like that. Silence always seemed to extend much farther than it actually was during an awkward time, he wasn't sure what to say he didn't know how to respond to such a situation or really anything awkward. Caine wasn't an outgoing social guy who knew how to handle all and every social situation, he was slightly retarded in that area if you wanted to say that. He offered her a place to stay, she didn't to leave and in fact he actually didn't want her to. Not for the purpose of satisfying some underlying desire that had been harboring for years but more of a reassurance that this wasn't wrong and yes it did happen but they were adults and could handle it as so. It was just sex, it was just physical. Men and Women did that, so what? Caine could only ask what do they do next? What else was he supposed to say? He didn't know. Oh boy. If Cass could only see him now she would be laughing her ass off at the situation he had gotten himself into.
Luckily for him, Mika spoke before he did again and managed to not be as awkward as he was. Caine just wasn't good at expressing himself, it was hard for him to connect with those emotions inside of him and put it into words. Honestly at this point he was just so exhausted from the previous day's drug and drinking binge that he just waned to sleep it off and then sleep some more, but you couldn't keep something like this hanging. Caine smiled a little, yes, they still were best friends. Something like this shouldn't change that, what was he worried about? Sometimes it was just easier to have somebody else tell you than convincing yourself otherwise. "Yea, best friends was working good before, right? " He cared about Mika, a lot. But to him that was just instinct on being such close friends and considering how much she had helped him out in a lot of little ways he just remembered these things, that was it. She was right, it wasn't a big deal they would be okay, he hoped so anyway. Mika yawned and as yawns are notoriously contagious he also let out a yawn himself, they were both tired and needed sleep. "I need sleep" He muttered falling on the bed and laying on his stomach, his face still facing Mika, hopefully he wouldn't accidentally doze off before they were done discussing this.
Caine had just honestly never really thought about it, sometimes they'd be hanging out and he'd fall asleep and she'd fall asleep all cuddled next to him. It hadn't been a big deal, it had been so comfortable that he didn't bother question it. You don't fix something if it isn't broken at all. As Caine still offered her his room and a place to stay as always she settled all comfortable and nicely into his bed. Either Mika was really not feeling as awkward as he was at all or she was just pushing through it like he couldn't. Her smile was comforting though and at least there wasn't tears or anything like that, a smile was always better than anything. Even that was contagious, and he couldn't help but smile in return also. She had a point, they'd shared couches and whatever. It hadn't been anything weird at all, he'd give her that fact. "No, you can stay here." It was cold in his apartment by now with the rain and late weather. No sense in getting re-comfortable on the couch, it was difficult to get sleep when you weren't warm or struggling for it, he wouldn't subject her to that. That and the bed was just heaven right now that he didn't feel like moving and it was warm, the bed wasn't huge but they weren't struggling for room either, it was okay, they'd be okay, everything would be okay. "Best friends can share a bed right?" It wasn't an entirely serious questions, more of a try at some humor to be a little bit sarcastic at the situation.
i officially have the worst attention span ever >.>
anyways, no worries :] and yay :D

This weekend was surely going to take it's toll on Mika's school work. She could foresee it happening now, not having gotten any of her school work done before she found Caine stumbling in an alley. Though it was a friday evening - or saturday morning at this point - Mika still had a big physics paper due first thing monday morning. And no, she wasn't one of those slacker college students - she did start her paper and get some progress on it already. But there was still a lot more research to be done, and god knows Mika is easily distracted. It never helps to have a mind full of thoughts other then physics either. So as she laid in Caine's bed, warm and comfy under his blankets she found herself worrying about the future, something that she wished she did before she found herself in this situation. But for whatever reason this was going a lot better then what she had expected.
Mika never thought of Caine in a romantic sense. But now that it actually happened it was almost like the entire word would just say "I TOLD YOU SO," once they find out. If they find out,t hat is. Mika doesn't plan on telling anyone - except maybe Adam. She needs someone to discuss this with or she'll just explode with emotion. She doesn't think Caine will say anything either, to be perfectly honest. She was is confidant as far as she knew. The only other person close to him was his sister, and they both know how she feels about the two. Mika still has yet to meet her, but from what Caine says she breaks his stones about her all the time. It was always a laughing matter between the two, that was up until now. She really wouldn't care if Caine decided to tell someone, she isn't ashamed of her actions. She may be kicking herself for this when she actually examines how she really feels about it, but right now she was going to act like a mature adult. Mika was nervous about how Caine was going to react about what she said. It was like walking on eggshells, cautiously tip toeing around words that could hurt or leave lasting impressions. But, his reaction was actually nice.
When he spoked, Mika nodded. Best friends was working out before - very well, she may add. No need to mess things up, and Mika wanted to keep it that way. But, she knows there will always be that lasting "what if" in the back of her head. What if this didn't end? What if they actually did do the unthinkable and become a couple? Or continue seeing each other, in that sense. She'll always wonder. He is the only guy she has been so close with and spent so much time with without it reaching this point for so long. Lust was such a deadly sin. "Relationships only lead to messy complications. They never end well," she said, a bit of self doubt in her voice. If her and Caine were to ever continue on this path again, she had this feeing in the pit of her heart that it wouldn't be like every other relationship she's been in. "Love doesn't exist anyways. No reason so F*ck up our friendship trying to look for it," she confessed, a more serious tone lining her thick british accent. It was true, she didn't believe in love. She didn't know how Caine felt on the topic, and she wasn't going to ask. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Besides, things were ... rough enough without arguing opinions.
When Caine laid down on his bed next to her, she smiled. He was cute, even with his face half buried in a pillow. She sighed. "Sleep is for weaklings," she winked, taunting him lightly. She only hoped he didn't take that in a perverted way. Any other occasion she wouldn't care, but considering where they were right now Mika felt it would be out of place. Relieved she didn't have to get out of the bed, Mika laid right back down beside him, curling up on the side of the bed she happened to be on, another yawn escaping her mouth. "I'm not sleepy," she lied, trying to justify her calling him a weakling for being tired. "I have a lack of oxygen," she murmured before giggling into the pillow, it blatantly obvious she was tired. But, using the 'a yawn means you have a lack of oxygen' was always a good fall back. She turned her attention to Caine, her head resting on the pillow as she looked at him and he to her. It wasn't as tense as it was a few moments ago, which was Mika's goal the entire time. Ignore what happened for the most part, and go back to the way things were. She grinned at his last statement. "At lest I know you'll protect me from monsters," she said, covering head with the blanket. Oh Mika, you're so silly. "A complete stranger wouldn't risk his neck for me," she giggled, pulling the blanket back down and taking in Caine's obviously tired appearance. She should probably let him sleep, but she just had to be sure.
Things were ok. This, was actually kind of nice.Giggling and laughing with her best friend. Just like usual. Except this time there was a different feeling. Almost like .. home. A good home though, not like the one she came from. She smiled, removing her hand from under the covers for only a second, placing her finger on Caine's nose before it retreated back underneath the blankets. "So, everything ... copacetic?" she asked.

Caine was almost grateful at how tired and exhausted he felt, his body felt worn out and if he didn't get to sleep eventually he'd end up with a migraine. The problem with taking pills to take away a headache was the aftermath of the rebound headache that not handful of pills could take away, for that he just shut himself in a cave like area for a few hours until it passed. It would help, at least until the next one. For now his exhaustion masked anything else he might have been feeling, at least he hoped it was masking unless he just didn't recognize anything. All this mental analyzing was making his headache show up, he'd think about it later when he'd slept this off. Caine hadn't even thought about how Mika felt, besides exhausted. She probably had homework and school stuff to do, she was actually a good student unlike Caine had been and was incredibly intelligent, you didn't see many physics majors who smoked and drank like she did. Overall Caine would say she had a good head on her shoulders. It was so comfortable now, he still felt a little stranger them being like this, but he tried his best to put up the right mental blocks to just get through it, especially since she was doing a splendid job of pushing through it as well.
They would get back to normal, they always did, not that anything ever went wrong. They just worked. As, ya know, best friends and all. This was just a physical thing, no big deal. And if it happened again, well he liked sex, so what could he say? And he was sure that a healthy and vibrant girl like Mika liked it too, so it wasn't anything more than that. Maybe Cassie could help him with this, but she usually had a strong opinion on things and Caine was close with his youngest sibling but they would just argue until one of them stomped off all pissed off. Most of the arguments were over his drug use and she'd mentioned his last stint in rehab and he'd get all pissed off and it wouldn't get mentioned again for a while. She was a girl, she could help him with something like this right? Not that there was a problem, more of like an outside opinion. The worst thing he could do was be awkward and act like some treasonous act had been committed, he'd done nothing wrong and neither had she. It had been consensual and nobody had forced anything. If Caine had ever hurt her he wouldn't know what to do with his miserable self.
For now he played cool until he could figure it all out in his mind and get some sleep. For whatever it was worth, Caine felt completely comfortable around her and even himself. So the drugs had their own affect on him, it didn't change him a whole lot, just kept him afloat for however long they were affective until the next dose. Caine was tempted to just throw his pillow at her, but it was so comfortable. "Say's the college student." Wasn't college about pulling all-nighters and all that? Or something. "I'm a couch potato." Well he was, but at least he had some form of income, though that required sitting on his ass half the time. Had Caine still been overly worried he wonder what she had really meant behind the comment, if they really wanted to they could go at it like rabbits all night and sleep all day, but he just wouldn't even mention such a thing. She finally got herself comfortable next to him where she had been before, it still didn't feel weird or anything, so that was a good sign. It seemed that whoever of them had started the yawning it would now never stop, he had to not think about it to hopefully not yawn, which failed quickly. There was a moment of nothing, she looked at him and he looked back at her. Caine was used to looking at his own blue eyes in the mirror, they were dull in comparison to her's though.
Don't let the bed bugs bite, child's play. But, she had a point. They were there for each other and despite this he wouldn't change his attitude. He had to laugh, the tension wasn't taking up all the space and being the white elephant in the room anymore which was nice. 'Cause even with pills and enough exhaustion he couldn't sleep with a lot on his mind. Her finger touched his nose and instinctively flinched playfully, "Yea, we're good." They could bounce back and be fine, and finally he got up the effort to just throw his pillow on her visible head as if to instigate a pillow fight, but he was just playfully telling her to go to sleep, because they were both obviously exhausted. The effects of the drinking, drugs and....physical activity left them like sloths and in need to sleep.
ugh x| feels kind of short. anyway, yea I think it's closing by this point haha.
