The subway ride back to Caine's apartment was relatively uneventful. It was basically Mika and Caine time, the two sat and teased each other while Mika did her best to keep him awake. Caine, was doing everything in his power to keep himself from staying awake, it seemed. But Mika never let up, always pestering and poking, making sure he couldn't get too comfortable in that seat of his. Stop after stop, the two rode deeper into the downtown area before reaching the downtown residences. They weren't as nice as the uptown apartments, but they were nice enough. Caine's was the nice of the apartments, Mika thought. From what she understood his two younger siblings recently moved in - which means less space. Mika made sure they weren't going to be home before they got there. Caine assured her they were out for possibly the evening, which made her feel a tiny bit better. It would be awkward to meet his siblings for the first time dragging their drunk, high older brother to his bed.
The streets were getting less and less busy, kids that were would and about heading back home for dinner. Ah. food. Mika was definitely hungry. She might just have to raid Caine's fridge while he is sleeping. He's bound to have something good. The thought of food making her stomach growl, she realized Caine was in no shape for anything but bed at the moment as she got him to stumble over to the door to his apartment. Mika took his keys from him and took the liberty of unlocking the door because she figured that he wouldn't be able to. Stumbling inside, Mika's first reaction was to stop at the sofa in the living room, and place her bag down. Doing so, she still Kept Caine on his feet while he leaned on her for support. "Come on, love" she said, looking around for his bedroom. Spotting the door, she led the way and placed him in front of his closet. "Get .. clothes and such so you can shower. Imma get you some kind of ... grain" she told him, Shutting his bedroom door behind her as she walked over to the kitchen.
His kitchen wasn't empty, but it wasn't as full as Mika imagined it. for whatever reason she imagined Caine having a lot of food - that, and she was really hungry. So her hopes were really higher then her expectations. None the less she was able to locate some bread and some crackers, which will do the trick. She spotted a tea kettle and some tea in the cabinet too - one of Mika's only weaknesses. It might do some good for Caine too - she'd have to make him some for when he gets out of the shower. Placing everything she was going to use on the counter, she walked back over to the sofa and took off her jacket, placing it on her bad before taking off her her shoes and leaving them by the door. Walking back to Caine's room she knocked before entering, spotting him sitting on his bed. She smiled at him "Come on smelly, time to shower," she spoked with a devilish grin. She waked over to the bed and got him to his feet and led the way to the bathroom. "Right, so I'll leave you to it then, yeah?" she said, leaving him in the bathroom and shutting the door behind her.
Making her way back to the kitchen she started the kettle and grabbed two cups for tea. She got everything together, grabbing a plate from the cabinet. It took a few guesses for Mika to find out which cabinet held the dishes, but she got it eventually. She never got the chance to raid Caine's house before, he normally just got everything for her. But, I guess there is a first time for everything. She made some toast, as well as just some untouched pieces of bread and put it on the plate with some crackers. Mika aways had a motherly sense to her, even though she doesn't think herself motherly material. She just likes to take care of people. And though Caine usually hates people who feel the need to take care of him, she thinks it was a bit more acceptable when it's her. At lest, so she hopes. She listened closely to the shower, making sure she heard no big "bang," or the sound of him falling over. But, so far so good. She hoped it stayed that way. Getting the tea together she leaned on the counter, letting out a sigh, eyes floating over to the bathroom door as she waited for him to either come out, or fall on his drunken ass.

Caine was at the downward point of his experience. Where he was supposed to pass out or fall asleep where he was and wake up considerably more sober than he had been before his slumber. But Mika wouldn't let him sleep, she wouldn't leave him in peace. Had he more energy he would have just rolled up on the ground and made it impossible for her to bother him, he was so tired. At least his brother and sister wouldn't be home, they didn't need to see him liket his, not after what had happened today. It was reinforcement in the wrong area that he needed. It wouldn't help anything. Deaclan would have just sighed and helped deal with his drunk overgrown brother and Cassie would have probably started lecturing to deaf ears, like if she was their mother. It seemed that the only one that didn't mind his problem was Caine himself. He considered it more of a habit, like a hobby or something, not that problem that everybody made it out to be. There were certainly worse things, a road that Caine had ventured only once, thank goodness.
They arrived at what looked like an apartment and then it hit him, this was his apartment! That was fast, he hardly remembered the walk from the subway, it was like sleepwalking, it was nice. Being on autopilot, much more useful than having to put forth any effort. She dragged him inside, Caine was still able to walk pretty well but would wobble and therefore he leaned on his friend for physical support though not putting his full weight forward. They walked down a very small hall after a kitchen and living room where the bedroom doors were aligned. The far right one was his, he had chosen it because he liked how the sun didn't hit the room at odd hours in the morning. Nothing made a hangover worse than the sun in your eyes. She mentioned something of a shower and he stood in front of his closet, not sure exactly what to do.
What does one do first for a shower? Oh yes, get undressed. She closed the door, thank goodness or Caine would have just dropped his clothes right then and there without a thought. He pulled his t-shirt over his head revealing more pale skin and a toned torso, he didn't have any tattoos at the moment, but there were a few scars with more stories than any tattoo could ever tell. He removed his belt and dropped in on the ground with his shirt and then he turned around, seeing his bed in what he believed was a light from the heavens. Sleep. But no sooner had he sat down that Mika had walken in to drag his happy ass to the bathroom across the hall. She shut the door and he figured might as well do this before he actually fell asleep. There were towels already in the bathroom and he stripped down, just leaving the remaining articles of clothing in a pile behind the door and almost could have bitten through his lip when the water shot out frighteningly cold into his face and hair. It was mearely a miracle that he hadn't fallen over and tripped and hit his head on some metal thing and gone into a coma.
Caine's shower more or less consisted of cold water pouring on his head while he had one had on the wall of the shower and the other on the perpendicular wall as a means of balance. It certainly woke him up, but it wasn't anything close to a nap. Turning off the water he slowly and surely stepped out of the tub and wrapped himself in a towel. No sense in tripping and making a mess of himself to have Mika save him while he was passed out naked in the tub. She would have never let him live it down. It was one of those things you even brought up ten years later and he would still blush about it. He didn't need that. The towel was wrapped around his waist but might as well have served no other purpose other than to cover himself. His hair was matted on his head flat and soaking wet, the water dripping in all directions and his skin was cold and soaked also.
But, it was refreshing in a way. It had helped subside his nausea for now. But he opened the bathroom door and grimaced a little when the cold air hit his wet skin and he walked over to his room. It must have been quite a site, a shivering half naked man wobbling over a few feet. But he'd make it to his room alright and find some clean clothes and hopefully not put them on back wards. Which he managed to at least get a pair of black jeans on, his hair still soaked he didn't hesitate to literally just collapse on the bed, hoping for some peace and quiet, but who knew how long that would last. But Caine sat up and pulled off a piece of paper that had stuck to his damp stomach. A note from his sister. "JR. Me and Dec will be home tomorrow, please let me know when you get home. <3 Cass." It was a lot less specific than he expected from Cassie, she usually wrote novels or straight up called him. At least she recognized he had needed his space today.
:DDD. i have muse, woot. hopefully it lasts :]

"I found my own true love was on a blue sunday .."
Mika, by nature was a musician. She studied music theory since she would walk, and played piano before even that. She was a killer Piano player, but singing wise wasn't really her thing. She was told her singing voice wasn't as bad as she thought it was, but her sister got the talent in that area. She just plays the music in the background. But, Mika can't help that music is constantly playing in her head. 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. She always had something playing in there, and today it happened to be The Doors. one of her personal favorite bands of all time. Jim Morrison just didn't give a F*CK about anything. Hell, he went on stage drunk and stoned majority of the time, throwing up all over himself and passing out. Which, was disappointing for some. But he did know how to put on a hell of a show. Even when he was as intoxicated as dear Caine. He was an independent thinker, like herself. His ideas, how he viewed the world was similar to how she felt - but not exactly the same. He had more of a .. cynical view of things.
It was awkwardly quiet in Caine's apartment without anyone else but herself really there. Just the sound of the shower rang through the empty apartment, Mika continued humming and singing to herself as she fixed him a good sober-up meal, knowing that the feel good experience he did have was probably gone by now. She could only IMAGINE how shitty he felt right now - she only hoped that the shower was helping. She glanced over her shoulder at the door to the bathroom for a moment before smiling, continuing on fixing him something to eat. "She looked at me and told me I was the only one in the world, now I have found my girl .." she continued singing, humming some parts that she was too lazy to form into words. Sighing, she placed her hands on her hips and looked at her wonderfully cute meal - even if it was just bread and crackers. She put a bit of jelly on the toast, which she took the liberty of making a smiley face out of one of the pieces of toast. She figured it would hopefully brighten up his horrible feeling. Maybe. Well, regardless a shot should make him feel better when he awakes - god knows he has enough alcohol laying around.
The tea kettle finally signaling her that the water was boiling, Mika poured two cups of tea, one for herself and one for Caine. "Nomnomnom teaaa ..." she giggled lightly to herself, adding a pound of sugar in her cup and leaving his black. She didn't know how he liked his tea - she'd get him sugar or creme, if he asked. Getting aggravated at her hair, she tied it back quickly into a messy bun and then proceeded to take a nice big old sip of her cup of tea. Glancing at her complete creation, she was kind of disappointed at herself. In the Kitchen, cooking food. Like all men feel women should. Mika has heard far too many women jokes. There were several occasions she was told to get back in the kitchen, and to go make sandwiches for the men. She normally just laughed it off - plus she likes making sandwiches. It was her fault for having mostly guy friends anyway. Hearing the door to that bathroom open, Mika peeked her head around the corner of the hallway, only to see a half dressed Caine waddling across the hall to his bedroom. Her attention was quickly turned back to what she was doing. She blushed sightly, finding herself awkwardly attracted. Then again, she was aways attracted to Caine. It was no secret really.
Reaching into one of the lower cabinets, Mika grabbed a pan and filled the bottom with about a quarter inch of water. Just in case he did need to throw up everywhere he'd have a place to do it from the comfort of his bed. Grabbing the pan and maneuvering the plate and cup on her arm and in her other hand she carefully walked down the hall and into his bedroom, only to see Caine, half dressed laying on his bed with a note in his hand. He smiled at him, realizing she did have a lot in her hands at once. "I waitressed back in high school," she shrugged, walking over to his nightstand and placing his cup of tea and somewhat meal down. "Look at that bedside manner. Maybe I should have been a doctor" she thought aloud, sitting next to him on the bed. "So there's tea, figured that would warm you up a bit. I didn't put anything in it though so .. and uh, toast and crackers to help you sober up. It wont be as harsh on your stomach either. And look! the toast even has a smiley face," she told him with a goofy grin, so proud of her handy work. "You don't have to eat it but it would help. And there's a pan on the floor. in case you have to y'know, throw up and sh*t," she finished, realizing that Caine probably wanted to sleep. "Right, you probably want sleep. So I'll be in the living room, holler if you need me" she said, standing up and smiling. Before she left she took the note out of his hand and placed it on the night stand. She didn't read it, but she assumed if was from his siblings. "Whatever it is can surely wait a little longer?" she shrugged, turning around and waking out of the room, closing the door about 3/4s of the way before heading into the living room.
Reaching the living room, Mika sighed as she looked around for entertainment. She cleaned up the kitchen as she went, so there was no need to do anything there. She glanced to the television and noticed one thing. Xbox. A devilish grin creeping it's way onto her face she turned it on and looked through the games. Noticing a certain Call of Duty game - Modern Warfare 2, to be exact - and recovered her gamer tag, signed on, and started paying.
Entertainment. For. Hours.

Caine put the note aside, he'd put his phone somewhere around his room so he wouldn't be bothered to text his sister at the moment. If she called him angry and worried later he'd explained he'd passed out drunk and he could already hear the disappointed sigh and disapproving tone. She didn't like how Caine was killing himself slowly, the last time they had fought she'd wondered why he hadn't just killed himself instead of dragging everybody around him down with him in the emotional downward spiral his life had become. It was hard sometimes, to keep his family close because of their constant disapproval and fights. His friends never judged him like that, but family and friends were different at the same time. Mika was part of that rare group that was a little of both. Definitely one of his best friends, she had grown to family at least at that comfort level. Another could be Scar who he'd remember when he was a kid from next door. Though her brother he wasn't particularly fond of.
The door opened and Mika came in with a ton of plates and he wondered how she balanced all that. Even stone cold sober he could hold maybe two plates, clearly he didn't have whatever magical skill that she had acquired from the said high school waitressing job. "You basically are my doctor today." His savior for the day, he owed her. Not that they kept tally per say but he'd hopefully make a mental note to do something for her or at least when she needed saving and dragging from some alley somewhere when she was extremely drunk. Though the journey between the alley and apartment would be considerably less challenging, seeing as he was a lot stronger than her and she was a lot smaller than him, so he'd probably just carry her all dramatically and it'd be a easy. Butt he point was that he'd all dramatically save her from an ally in her future drunken stupor.
The food was actually appealing to him, he'd relaxed enough to stop the constant urge to empty his stomach wherever he was standing, and the happy face was nice. "Now I don't wanna destroy it...." Oh well, too bad. It was like eating goldfish or gummy bears. You could give them a name and a life story of how they arrived there, but their purpose in life was as sustenance for him or whoever. Food for survival. But Mika was right, he did want to sleep though he'd probably have at least one slice of bread before since she went through the effort, hopefully he'd pass out quick. She took the note from his hands and placed it aside, and again she had another point. It could wait another while longer. "Just Cassie...' he mumbled. Hopefully he would remember to shoot her a text when he got up, though he doubted that sending a text would be the first thing on his mind when he woke up. Although Caine wanted to fall fast asleep and just rest, he didn't want to deal with the overwhelming consequences he would have from the shots and excessive drinks.
Caine smiled thankfully at Mika. If it wasn't for her today he'd be fast asleep in that alley and without a shower or food either. That would have been much more unpleasant to wake up to than the roof over his head and bed and friend in the living room. She left the room and he looked around for a second and grabbed the piece of toast without the smiley face and ate half of it in about two bites. It didn't fall too funny into his stomach which was nice, but he didn't want to risk more and really just wanted to sleep. Falling backward and scooting to his giant comfortable pillow he didn't have a problem drifting away after he closed his eyes.
(i'm gonna go ahead and insert a time lapse here :P )
Caine wasn't sure how much time exactly that had passed but he was at that stage where you know you should get up but really really really don't want to. He was leaning toward forever sleeping by the sharp pain in his head that was a lovely headache and the dry sensation in his throat. He kept his eyes closed despite being awake and slowly opened his eyes so the light wouldn't shock him and make his head explode immediately. Holy Crap. What the hell did he drink yesterday? Or what had he used? The light, luckily hadn't been too bright in his room, but his head still wasn't giving up on the pain. He looked around quickly and didn't see what he was looking for, but he'd managed to sit up on the edge of the bed. The first things on his mind were- painkiller, bathroom, who else was here?
There were pieces of memory floating around in his head, but not in any cohesive manner. He stood up, sure that he wasn't going to throw up, walked out of his room and to the bathroom. The other side affect from drinking was that all that liquid had to go somewhere. Exiting the bathroom he walked almost like a zombie into the kitchen where he fumbled around and after three drawers found the pills he was looking for to which he popped two in his mouth. Hopefully that would kick in soon, for the love of God. And on to his last mission, who was here? He looked over the small counter of his kitchen and looked at another pair of blue eyes, his dear friend Mika. How long had she been here?
"How long was I out?" He wondered, she was playing his brother's game system which he didn't mind. He hoped he hadn't kept her waiting a long time.

Mika's father would probably kill her once he found out she wasn't majoring in medicine. But not that you're in trouble kind of kill, literally Kill her. Or at lest injure her severely. But the way she saw it, she had it all figured out. she had a plan, and even if it failed she always had a backdoor. Mika aways had a way to get out of tough situations, even if her first attempt failed. Mika was awkwardly careful with herself, making sure not to let anything get too deep. There was always a back door out of the life you live, at lest in Mika's life. So, even if her dad did find out about her major she would get away with her sister. The only real issue is she'd be leaving all her friends behind - she'd probably just disappear without a trace. The thought of leaving them was painful, but she had to do what she had to do. Caine, Adam, Icee - They were her family. That would have been the worst part. She shook her head at the thought. That was the worst case scenario. There is no need to thing about such horrible outcomes when it probably wont happen. Then again, be prepared for the worst. And Mika always was.
When he mentioned he didn't want to eat the toast she made because of the smiley face she grinned a bit, happy he enjoyed her handy work. She was sure he wasn't going to remember this when he awoke later, but it was the thought that counted anyways. When he mentioned that it was only a note from his sister she nodded. "Well, if she happens to call or stop by I'll let her know you're safe and sound," she assured him, finally letting him rest. When she reached the living room, she grabbed her cup of tea from the counter before heading over to the xbox. She wasn't sure if it was Caine's, to be honest - she never saw him play it. Not to mention she'd be PISSED if he had Xbox live and they never exchanged Game rtags. That was an issue she'd have to pick with him later when he awoke. She sat indian stye on the sofa (which was very comfortable), sipping her tea slowly. It felt so nice in her cold skin. It was quiet, Mika trying her best to keep the noise down so that Caine wouldn't awake. She debated about reading instead of playing Xbox, because the noise would definitely wake up Caine. At lest so she thought - even more so if she puts the headset on. People on xbox live aren't very friendly to girls online - that, or they are too friendly, if you catch my drift. That and she is from England - accents don't go over so well on Xbox live. She did, however have Bram Stoker's Dracula with her, which would provide some entertainment. But, killing people seemed more amusing to her at the moment.
Finishing her cup of tea she brought the cup over to the kitchen, cleaning it out quickly and putting it away before sitting on the floor in front of the television. Mika glanced out the window for a moment while the xbox turned itself on, spotting the sun just finally starting to set. Maybe she'd spend the night here tonight - if she's getting stoned and drinking with Caine when he awakes then she probably wont want to ride the subway all the way back uptown and go to her dorms. The sofa was comfy enough for her. Her attention drawn back to the Xbox, Mika signed out whoever was signed on and recovered her gamer tag and signed on. Taking her rightful place in the gaming world, Mika joined a game of Team Deathmatch in Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2, and got lost within the action for only god knows how long.
- - - - - - - -
By the time Caine awoke, it was several hours later. The sun had finally set about an hour ago, Mika turning the lights on around the house. It was the only time she actually turned away from the television unless she was checking in on Caine (which she did periodically. Just to be sure he wasn't dying). She was doing rather well today in the call of duty world - she made several people angry, and forced a few to rage quit. But at the moment, headset on and smirk on her face, Mika's current entertainment was a clan she was playing - and destroying - who decided to try and talk sh*t over Xbox live. Like every other person on the planet who has Xbox. Mika laughed at their comments, only to retaliate with comments of her own. "Love, why are you taking? I just Destroyed your entire clan two matches in a row. Care to make it three?" she asked with a giggle, hearing them make some kind of comment about her accent. She sighed. "Why is everyone on xbox live so predictable? I live in America, actually. Not that it was any of your concern," she told them, the match starting to she couldn't hear them talk anymore. She supposed it was for the better, considering Caine would probably wake up soon. She glanced down at her watch quickly, noting he had been sleeping for a good three hours. It was around 8 o'clock. "He's never going to sleep tonight," she said, knowing that when she takes naps during the day like that she can't sleep at night. Oh well, just more fun for her - she was a creature of the night anyways.
She got up from her seat, quitting out of her match only to see Caine walk out of his bedroom and into the kitchen, taking a few pills. She blinked, he being silent for a moment while she stretched and turned off the television. "Good evening, sleeping beauty. How you feeing love?" she smiled, walking over to the kitchen and leaning up against the counter next to him. "Uh. You've been out for a few hours. We got back here around 5 .. so about Three hours," she told, turning around and getting two shot glasses out of the cabinet behind her, and grabbing a bottle of alcohol that he had in the freezer. She didn't really take notice to what it was, but she pour two pretty decent sized shots before handing Caine one. "Do you even remember this afternoon?" she asked, realizing that he probably had little to no memory to it. "Well .. I promised we would get f*cked up when you awoke 'cause you didn't want to sober up to begin with. And nothing is better for a hangover then getting more piss ass drunk," she said, holding up her glass before muttering "Cheers," and taking her shot. She placed the cup down on the counter, pouring herself another. She assumed he had a few questions which, she would be happy to answer. She only hoped he had some weed lying around here somewhere .. it would make this whole process a lot easier. When Mika drinks, she wants to smoke. And that is that.
Looking at his shot glass she smiled. "I like to keep my promises," she smiled, taking one more shot.
S T A T U S ; /dances T U N E S : Times of Grace N O T E S : ahaha. I meant to ask how you wanted to do the nap thing, but that works perfectly. xD

It took Caine a few minutes to realize that the sun wasn't even up anymore and the light in the building was from the lamps and bulbs. The day had sure gone by fast and he wondered how long Mika was waiting for him to get up. It was also now that he realized that he was shirtless for whatever reason and his hair stuck kind of funny to his head from being wet when he fell asleep, otherwise he looked quite normal for a night out, or day in this case. She looked at him as he stood in the kitchen, sure it had only been ten seconds but he wished the pills would work faster. "Awesome." He mumbled, his head ached some and his stomach felt empty but he didn't want to risk eating anything in particular yet, so he'd ignore that one. Over all he felt exhausted which was part of the hangover and part of the nap. Three hours? He wasn't even sure what day it was at that moment and was still caught in the groggy fog of just waking up.
Mika was in his kitchen now, pulling out glasses and a bottle out of the fridge, and he soon had a shot in his hand. "You know how to get to a man's heart." He commented seeing the alcohol. Though it probably wasn't the ideal choice of the moment, he would have rather dealt with the hangover tomorrow rather that at that moment. His body was pretty resilient and he wasn't a light weight either, he wasn't thirteen anymore where only a few drinks and he'd feel like hell the next day. Caine downed his shot quickly, and his stomach didn't quite like it at first but he ignored it. She had a good question though, and he paused for a second genuinely thinking about it. "Some. Though anything stupid I might have said is beyond me." He remembered pieces of the alley, and the subway but he couldn't remember every single detail or most of them anyway.
It had only been three hours so he still had a significant head start on Mika as far as drinking. At this point there was still plenty alcohol in his system but he was much more composed and aware than he had been a few hours ago. She might as well been serenading him with roses at the suggestion of more drinking, with today he just wanted to drink and drink some more until he passed out and felt bad enough when he woke up to finally stop. His sister would yell at him and his brother would hold her back, but what else was new? "Sounds like a plan." He refilled the shot cups when they were both empty, it sounded like an excellent plan. Maybe he'd smoke some and see whatever else he had in stock. Caine was like a walking pharmacy, and with his middle name, Rexton, he could easy use a pseudonym of Rx. Maybe it was meant to be. "I owe you some bud, right? " It was either that or accept the fact that she'd magically found him in the alley way. Not that she wasn't a great friend, but everybody wanted something.
Before he took another shot he walked back to his room quickly, picked up the first clean shirt he saw and put it on. It was more comfortable than walking around half-naked, it was enough he'd already acted like a Hobo today. "Thanks for dragging me home." Caine realized he had forgotten to thank her at all for not leaving him in a puddle. Oh, where would he be without friends like her? "Cass would have just left my ass out there to teach me a lesson." She probably would have and then come back for him in a few hours after feeling terrible. It was funny how she took care of the three older boys sometimes acting like a mother. But he didn't want to deal with them right now, especially Henry. Little prick. He'd pissed Caine off today, which was normal, but his anger hadn't been the usual annoyance.
blah. took a crappy nap

There was a noticeable difference in Caine from three hours ago and now. He was much more composed, wasn't throwing sloppy remarks and slurring his words. The drunk Caine was amusing as all hell, but it was nice to see the some-what sober Caine. Mika knew that he had quiet the head start on her as far as being intoxicated goes, but at lest she is a light weight. Four shots down and she'll start to feel something - and she was already half way there. There are times Mika hates not being able to hold her alcohol well. She gets sloppy and messy before anyone else does. But, then again it takes less alcohol for her to get sh*t faced, which coast less money in the long run - and Mika likes saving money.
She grinned at Caine's comment. Funny, she always thought that food or sex was the way to a man's heart, but not Caine. Alcohol : a note to self. She shouldn't have expected anything less. "Well, keep walking around without your shirt on and every girl in the neighborhood looking through your window at night," she snickered, looking at the bottle of Alcohol on the counter. "You know, I'm pretty sure you have more alcohol and mixing beverages then food. I don't know if I should be super happy or if I should be concerned for your well being ..." she said, putting her finger up and telling Caine to hold on for one second and scurrying off to his room, grabbing the plate of bread and crackers and the cup of tea before coming back to the kitchen, and putting them in the sink. Last thing she needed to clean up. She ran the water and brought her attention to cleaning the dishes before continuing with conversation. "I found you in an alley. And I'm made of amazing. YOU SAID IT," she said making sure he didn't forget. She grinned, drying the dishes and putting them away.
"But other then that I just brought you back here. You weren't any trouble, I promise. You're fun drunk," she winked, realizing how horrible that must of sounded. "That sounded wrong .." she laughed, her shot glass being filled once more. When Caine mentioned the weed Mika smiled happily. "I'm so glad you remembered. Lucky for you I'm buying an 8th. And I plan on smoking it all here with you," she told him, going into the living room and grabbing her purse and grabbing the cash. "I even have el docho already, " she said, referring to the box of dutches she had in her bag. She is always prepared for these things. "Which, means the sooner you grab it the sooner we smoke and get you feeing a bit more relaxed. It might even help the headache," she offered, knowing that it always calmed her down.Glancing back to the living room Mika brought up another serious topic. "By the way, I didn't know you had an xbox. Way to leave me out, jerk," she told him with a scowl. Joking, of course. She took her other shot when Caine ran to put a shirt on, and filled up both their glasses again. She was wasting no time.
Mika nodded, not even expecting a thank you. He was her best friend, she wasn't just going to let him sit there and rot. He would of passed out and probably just been waking up now. "Dont even worry about it, Love," she smiled, gesturing her head to the living room as she lead the way over to the sofa. However she grabbed both shot glasses, the bottle of alcohol, and her dutches before finding herself a comfy seat. "Tough Love," she said in response to his sister. She knows exactly what it is like to be the sister of a sibling who is getting hurt and you can't really help. "Needless to say I'd be able to understand where she is coming from," Mika shrugged, sighing sightly and glancing out the window. It was so dark downtown at night - kinda scary. Mika didn't like the dark, aways slept with a little light on at night. "Don't forget to text her or whatever," she reminded him before pointing at the seat beside her for him to sit. "So, why were you so drunk and f*cked up so early in the evening?" she questioned, curious as to why her friend was almost unable to walk in an alley.

Caine just wanted to relax, sit on the couch and smoke some bud and drink a whole ton. There really wasn't much else motivation in his body to do much else, he was tired. It had been a long day. Caine had actually not been drinking with Mika very often, usually it was like this. She'd hang out with him and make sure he didn't trip over nothing walking around. They usually just relaxed and got high together or tripped. Should be fun, he could hold his own compared to her and it would be fun if he had some funny stories about her instead of all of them about him saying something silly on the subway home from the alley. Being a fun drunk had its advantages and he didn't mind because he didn't want to be his father. If he was going to kill his liver he might as well go out with a few laughs.
Alcohol really wasn't the only way to Caine's heart, it was up there but there were others holding the coveted number one spot and so forth. Right now he just wanted to drink, and drink he would. She made the comment about him being shirtless and he only could shrug, he wasn't sure how to really respond to that. It sounded like a compliment or she could have been making fun of him, either way didn't really matter. "Be grateful i'm sharing." He responded, of course he'd share but he could always not share if he really felt like it. It was his booze after all. One didn't need food when they had all this stuff, it was a wonder he was so thin or had any muscle at all, but he did eat food. Tomorrow, after his hangover he'd probably eat enough for a few people out of not eating a whole lot for a few days and then go on with his life. She all of a sudden scurried out of the kitchen and to his bedroom, flying back with a whole ton of plates and such. He'd forgotten about those.
It made him grateful to live with his sister, he was messy and she was not. It was harmony. Giving her a funny look, "I was drunk". She was awesome, but he didn't want to boost her ego before the alcohol even kicked in, he'd let the booze do that today. Caine rolled his eyes and laughed a little. He was sure that even as drunk as he was he still was a bit stronger than her, so even if she tried something he'd be stubborn about it. So far on the evening's agenda was alcohol and now weed. A great combination if you asked him and he was still waiting for the painkillers to kick in, maybe he should have taken only on. God knew how many he had the whole day plus the alcohol, it was a wonder he still lived sometimes. But the usual amount didn't seem to be enough anymore, it never was enough. She was already jumping around left and right and he slowly made his way to the other side of the kitchen by the pantry where he kept his stash, or one of them anyway. The weed would definitely help with the headache and basically anything that was wrong with him, his headache, his mood, his fatigue. He pulled out a small plastic tub, enough to hold an eighth if not more. .
He turned around, closing the pantry behind him as she scolded him about the video game system. "It's my brother's, I hardly play at all." He'd played the usual video games as a child, but as he got older the environment he lived in hardly allowed him to just sit and relax and play Call of Duty all day. He'd rather have had that childhood instead of his shitty one, but it wasn't something you readily chose at the beginning of life. Coming back from grabbing a fresh shirt he downed another shot just to keep up with Mika, who was speed racer with the shots at the moment. They sat on the couch and he rolled his eyes again, leave it to her to agree with his sister, though he could understand a little bit of tough love it was complicated with his family. He looked at her a bit confused when she mentioned to text Cassie, was he supposed to text her? Where was his phone? He looked around for it, maybe he'd left it here. He stood up and walked briskly to his room, finally finding it in the jacket he had been wearing, and of course the usual amount of missed calls and texts from people, he quickly shot a text to Cassie so she wouldn't worry too much about him, sticking the phone on the small table they had in front of the couch.
Pouring himself another shot he looked at her after she asked him that. Was she getting bold enough to pry today? Normally he could say something vague and it'd be left at that. "I was having a bad day." Though you could hardly judge the way your day was going that early in the day, but it was one of the things he wasn't sure if he felt like talking about it. All Mika knew about Caine's family and upbringing was that his father was an alcoholic and his mother was a drug addicted whore. Details hardly needed to be spared and generally he didn't want to dwell on it, it was a complicated relationship. He didn't know if he still loved his parents as they claimed they loved him but all the times he'd had to jump in front of a brother while his dad was wielding a shovel really made him doubt that.
"Saw my dad today." Caine hadn't spoken to his father, much less seen him in years, he'd stopped counting how long it had been, the conversation had been less than interesting but had left him with a bad feeling inside. Family reunions weren't his thing, it was not what he needed today.

Mika had forgotten how miserable Caine was when he was sober. It had been so long since she's since him sober - even though he still had the alcohol in his system he was still a lot more composed then he was before. She can't really blame him though, she normally isn't at her peak of happiness unless she is stoned or trippin,' but she was still able to hold a pleasant disposition when she was sober. But Caine .. not so much. It was almost like when he was sober, every single thing that was wrong in his life was more apparent. the drugs, the alcohol, it was a good way to forget. Mika knew all too well, she must have tried everything out there at lest once - she was adventurous. Weed was her favorite escape, but it wasn't always available. She just didn't care about anything, all responsibility went out the window. Even if it was only for a few hours, it was still something. Hopefully it would do the same for Caine.
Seeing him like this was almost heart breaking to Mika. She hated seeing people in pain. It was even worse because it was Caine, the person who changed her butterfly stitches when she got back from England. The guy who she had so many stories about, each and every one of them being a wonderful evening of memories. Seeing how calm he was another reminder of how different the two were in personally. She was bouncing around his entire apartment like it was a playhouse, and he barely moved from the kitchen. Maybe I should tone it down a little she thought to herself as she sat in the sofa in silence for a while, waiting for Caine to get himself situated. Her hyper-active personally probably wasn't the best for him at the moment with that headache. When she mentioned his sister Mika realized he didn't remember the note. Not that she could really blame him, the condition he was in when he finally fell asleep was less then satisfactory at it's best. "She left you a note in your bedroom .." her voice drifted off as he went into his bedroom to check his phone, no doubt.
Mika got up from the sofa and walked over to the window in the living room, looking out at the view. Wasn't very spectacular, but then again Downtown wasn't the nicest place. She had no problem with it though, Caine's apartment is actually rather nice compared to some of the other apartments she's visited down here. Eyes narrowed at the blackened sky as she spoted some pretty dark clouds, obscuring her view of the stars and moon. She hated clouds for that exact reason. She was a physicist with plans to work at NASA - so naturally she loved star gazing. But the bloody clouds aways get in the way. It was only a few moments later that rain started to hit the window, lightly at first but steadily getting heavier over time. Caine still in his bedroom, Mika's phone rang from her bag, she walking over to it and picking it up. She gave a disgusted look at who it was, not answering the phone for her own father. She ignored the call, only to hear the voicemail alert go off shortly after. She rolled her eyes at the thought, not even wanting to listen to the voicemail. She could only imagine what he had to say, considering she hasn't talked to him in weeks.
Caine returning from his bedroom, Mika listened to what he had to say. She was honestly hoping a more in depth answer then what he provided, but Mika didn't expect anything more from Caine. She knew how he was, and knew he didn't like talking or dwelling on what his family life was like or how bad his day went. Mika respected that, but only hoped that if he ever did need to talk about it, she was first on the list. She smiled at him, grabbing a dutch and walking over to the trash can and cracking it, dumping the guts in the trash. She took a seat next to him again, attention draw away from her blunt rolling and to Caine when he mentioned he saw his father today. A little more then expected from him. She was bold enough to pry, which she normally didn't do - but she got an answer out of him (which was even more unexpected).
Mika didn't know much about Caine's family life, just as he doesn't know much about Mika's family life. He knew of her father's antics - though he hasn't seen the scars on her back (she doesn't plan on ever showing him either). He knew her mother was never around or gave a flying f*ck about her or her sister. The whore. God only knows how many times she's cheated on her father - hell, Mika wouldn't be surprised if her sister wasn't even his. But, Mika wasn't the one drunk in an alley because of it. So she searched her mind for what she knew about Caine's family. She knew his dad was a drunk, his mother was a drug addict and he took care of his younger siblings a lot of the time. If Mika was correct, he hasn't seen his parents in a while, his father more so then anyone else. She licked the dutch, making sure the leaf stuck to the paper before she started breaking up the weed, sitting in silence with Caine for a moment as she did her work. "Family reunions always blow," she offered, smiling slightly at him. She wasn't going to pry if he didn't want to talk about it. She didn't want to force him into anything he wasn't comfortable with, but conversation was open ended.
Mika didn't pity Caine. She didn't feel bad for him or think that he was someone who needed saving. Well, maybe he did a little, but not for the reasons that everyone else thought. He had a pill problem, but it wasn't Mika's place to say anything (though every once in a while they get into an argument about it). But right now, Mika felt like Caine needed understanding more then anything. A friend, not a psychiatrist. Looking over to her bag, Mika groaned when she heard her phone start to ring again. She got up and walked over to her bag, seeing it was her father again. "Speaking of fathers .." she murmured, ignoring the phone call and shutting her phone off. "Definitely don't need that buzz kill," she sighed, sitting back on the couch and pouring herself a rather large shot and taking it down like a champ.

Most people were miserable when they were drunk and happy when sober or at least with the appearance of it. Caine was quite the obvious, he was a fricken happy ass drunk and sober he just contemplated the horrible things of his life and kept to his artificial happiness in the form of drugs and such. It was interesting, in his opinion, how he hadn't found some harder drug to try and keep trying or get some addiction to. The ones like heroin and meth were great but destructive, he'd tried it once or twice and luckily hadn't ever gone back. Had Caine ventured down that path he'd probably be in that alley way twenty-four-seven and missing a few of his teeth. Those were the ones he wanted to, but couldn't get to because of his obligations with his siblings. It was enough he was a border-line alcoholic and pill popper, let alone a drug dealer. He didn't need a drug that after prolonged use completely changed your brain chemistry.
Caine sat down and stuck his phone nearby, last time he'd had it in his pocket while drinking and smoking he'd almost cracked the screen for whatever reason, he didn't want to have to buy another one. He waited patiently as she prepared her blunt and he took another shot in the meant time, the less time he spent talking the and more time he spent drinking then the less time he had to focus on why he tried to drink himself into oblivion today. For the most part Caine hated his father, he has a mean drunk who took pleasure in kicking Caine and Henry's ass. When they got older even Deaclan had been dragged into the mix a little bit, but the line was crossed when he'd tried to hit Cassie, then the three of them rebelled which ended in some nasty stitches and hospital visits. Thinking about the said memory he ran his fingers at the base of his hairline where he had a scar. There were more but that was the one that had knocked him out and left a crack in his head for a while.
He nodded in agreement, family reunions were not fun. Some people could enjoy them because they had a stable family that wasn't completely upside down and dysfunctional. "My brother says he's sober now." So the old guy had some mid life crisis or epiphany that told him to stop his ugly habit and set himself straight. He even wondered if his mother even lived with him anymore, he hadn't seen her in years and she was wildey absent during their childhood, only serving the purpose of cheating on his dad, shooting herself up with whatever she had nearby and not even defending her sons in their time of need. Fucking whore. "I don't think it changes anything." People with tempers like that didn't change, they just never did. Luckily none of them had inherited that, Henry a little bit, but he might as well have been a cleaned up sober version of their father. Cassie had a little temper but that was just a female thing.
A phone started ringing again, it wasn't his ring tone so it couldn't have been his phone. The fact that Cass hadn't texted him back yet meant she was either preoccupied or pissed off at him. Either way he didn't want to deal with her right now, he didn't need a lecture, just someone to get drunk with him and wallow together in their respective sorrows. She mentioned her father and he remembered the time she'd showed up at his doorstep all beat up and crying. He'd taken her in and helped her out, that's what friends were for and he couldn't respect anybody that would do such a thing. She didn't have anybody to protect her from her father, Caine had protected his younger siblings as best he could, especially his sister, but he could understand abuse. "What's he calling you for?" He asked, she took another shot and he poured himself another one to do that same. They both had their family problems, but at least they had each other as friends.
Caine never wanted to dump his problems on other people or burden anybody. But it was nice to have a drinking buddy or a drug buddy who understood and didn't judge. Caine learned early on not to judge people, because he was probably no better than them. Sure weed wasn't as addicting as meth or coke, but he did pills and he was still a drug addict. The drug wasn't the problem, it was the fact that he had a problem and right now he was in vulnerable state where he would have tried anything to get away, no matter how dangerous. The rain was hitting hard against his window and he was glad he wasn't outside, it would have been freezing. The rain was peaceful for him, sure the clouds and gloom didn' t help the mood but the pitter patter against the wall was therapeutic in a way, but that was just him.

Rolling a blunt was a very dedicate and detailed procedure for Mika. But hell, she guarantees she can roll the best blunts in town. It doesn't take her as long as it use to, the art being something she has been perfecting since she was in high school. So, needless to say she was experienced. The weed being completely broken up, Mika spread it out inside the dutch, folding a piece of it over the weed, packing it in and then rolling it on the table under neath her hand. She did this several times, sometimes unwrapping and re-wrapping the blunt to be sure it would hit perfectly. There is nothing worse then a bunt that doesn't hit. You have to use your life's strength to get anything out of it, and Mika's lungs weren't in that great condition. So she rolled it loosely enough so it'd hit nicely, but not too fast. It should last for quiet a few passes between the two. Once she was satisfied she licked the edge of the paper and sealed the bunt shut. Marveling at her handy work she unwrapped one end of the blunt and rolled it tighter - to make a mouth piece. She bit of the extra dutch paper at each end and then placed the blunt on the table. "Isn't it beautiful?" she asked no one really in particular, satisfied.
But, she didn't spark it right away. She wanted to get her "crunk" on a little more with alcohol before she smoked. She was feeling pretty nice at the moment, 4 shots deep in whatever it was they were drinking, Mika poured herself one more. "Ah, sometimes I do miss the bitter taste of alcohol," she said, admiring the shot glass full of alcohol. She took the shot, shaking a bit afterward as the liquid shot down her throat and into her body. With each shot she takes they go down easier and easier, until soon they'll taste like water. Cracking her neck, Mika looked over to Caine and got herself a little bit more comfortable on the sofa. Sitting indian style she leaned back on the arm rest, her head tilting back and glancing out the window. The Rain was coming down harder now then it was before - yea. No way I'm leaving she thought to herself, hoping Caine wouldn't make her leave in the rain when their time was up. She would totally sleep in the sofa.
Mika was surprised when Caine told her about his dad. It wasn't terribly detailed, but it was enough for her to want to spark the blunt. Mika normally doesn't wallow in self-pity with other people. She does it on her own - normally when she showers - so that she is still completely composed for everyone else. Mika was big on keeping her composure. No one likes being around someone who is a mess, and Caine was one of the only people who got to see her as a mess. That day was one of her weakest moments, and she was still embarrassed about it. But, of all the people to see her like that she was glad it was Caine. Wasn't her brightest moments, but it was definitely one of their most bonding moments as a friends. She grinned at the memory, rolling the blunt between her fingers as she sparked it and took a rather nice large hit. The smoke entering her lungs was a nice feeling, one she had missed. It had been several days since she smoked, so this was very nice indeed.
People don't change, at lest in Mika's experience. One of the only times she actually talked to her mother about her father's abuse she said he was going to stop and change his ways. Ha, yeah right. He was back on the bandwagon a week later. Though, that one week without getting hit was nice. Sighing, Mika took another hit off the blunt, passing it to Caine. "In my experience, people don't change," she offered, pouring two more shots, one for the both of them. It wasn't the nicest view of things, but it was honest. "I guess alcoholism is different then personality but .. just because someone says their different doesn't mean they are. Nor does it change the things they've done," Mika spoke, shrugging it off as if it meant nothing. But her words weighed heavier on her then she had originally thought they would. People never change she reassured herself , looking at her phone that was now shut off on the table in front of them. "I have no bloody idea. I haven't talked to him in weeks, god only knows what he wants now," she sighed, giving an aggravated groan before leaning over to the table and taking her 6th shot.
And now she was feeling real nice.

Caine watched Mika and her rolling the blunt, she might as well been Michelangelo sculpting a sculpture. To be honest, Caine didn't smoke a lot of joints and blunts preferring pipes and bongs himself. But it was each to their own, but he didn't completely shut it out. Weed was still weed and still had the same affect it was all about flavor to some. With all the cigarettes he smoked and the weed plus the alcohol and painkillers it was a wonder he had both working lungs, but they weren't baby lungs anymore. He didn't start coughing up a a storm when he smoked anymore like he used to but could enjoy it more breathing all the smoke in and God knew what else. That was the good stuff. Caine looked at the masterpiece that she had finished. "A work of art." He responded, she could have the first hit since it was her creation. The pills would kick in soon so he'd have that and the alcohol and he'd smoke a little but would have rather gotten drunk for once. Such a combination they were making and tomorrow he'd crawl over to the coffee machine and get them both a cup and then try to eat. No one ever wanted to deal with the consequences.
Caine also took a shot as she took hers, they hadn't taken that many but the bitter liquid didn't seem so bitter anymore and there wasn't the wince anymore. It was just alcohol. The pouring rain was comforting and everybody always thought the same thing when it rained. They wanted to curl up on the couch or in their bed with a warm blanket and pillow and watch TV or sleep. Caine would have done that but been high out of his mind or tripping on something. That moment held a similar feel except with drinking, a lot of drinking until they wouldn't be able to walk. Yea, that was a good goal, till they couldn't walk. "You should drink more often, its a lot of fun." Caine assured her, like a salesman would. Sometimes he felt like he was persuading people to jump on the alcoholic bandwagon so he wouldn't have to be alone. Even though he really wasn't, he always felt alone and isolated because of his personal life experiences. Basically Caine was not in a good mood, Mika being here definitely helped and thank God she was here or who knows what he would be getting himself into.
He wasn't sure if he should tell her that, like as an appreciation. That he was a hundred times safer right now in that moment than he had been hours ago. Maybe not, they each had enough to worry about without him getting all sentimental and soft on her. She honestly didn't know the half of it, when he got really depressed he did stupid. Stupid included heroin, coke, stuff like that which he usually stayed away from. It was sure to spark an argument like it had previously even with his pills. Vicodin and weed should have been the least of anybody's worries with Caine but he wouldn't say a word about it. She took the first hit of the blunt and smoke was everywhere for a second and then it was all gone, he took another shot not wanting to fall behind. He'd lost count already but that was a good thing because he didn't want it to be some kind of countdown either. These habits were expensive, not even in just the financial sense, they fucked with your head all at the same time and the high never got higher and you always felt lower, at least in his experience. It was an entrapment, he'd never get out, but what did he care.
Caine nodded in agreement as he took the blunt from Mika. They never would. Caine would always be self-blaming and self-destructive and depressed. His father would still be a raging asshole with a God complex and his mother would always be a tweaker though who knew what she was up to now or where she was anymore. Even if his mother had been at home she had abandoned her children at their birth, that was how he saw it. He took a hit off the blunt, sucking in the smoke and air and after holding it in for a second letting all out. That was relaxing even if it hadn't hit him yet. More shots were poured and he nodded in agreement again. "Alcohol makes it worse and you can't come back from that." They were all alcoholics, it didn't make Caine an angry person all the time but he drank in response to anger and it made him depressed. But he'd rather be depressed than an asshole. Caine took another hit, the room would be all smoky soon enough but the neighbors never complained actually. He passed the blunt back to Mika, listening to her answer his question. They didn't have to talk about it now, he didn't pry. She would talk when she was ready. "This is so much better than drinking alone."

As the THC filled her lungs, Mika found herself feeing quiet a nice buzz. Between the alcohol and the weed, Mika had a nice feeling going on right now. She was comfortable, and the rain outside honesty made a nice atmosphere inside Caine's apartment. Two Friends, sitting in a dim light living room with a bottle of alcohol and weed for the evening, the two had a very peaceful atmosphere. Mika only wished she had her bong with her. She prefers to smoke blunts rather then out of a pipe, but she loves putting the roaches of said blunts in her bong. It just completely destroys your face off. But, she wasn't really prepared for the events that unfolded that evening, so she can't really complain about herself. Giving a pondering thought, Mika reached up and untied her hair, no longer liking the up do. Letting it down she payed with it for a moment with her hand before smiling back at Caine, reaching for her shot glass.
When he encouraged her to drink more she grinned devilishly at him. "If I start spending more time with you then I'm sure your bad habits will rub off on me eventually," she teased, loosing count of how many shots she had taken. She wasn't wasting any time - taking shot after shot after shot. Drinking like a fish she was. Mika never was a very big drinker, but she does it on occasion or when she is with a friend and it seemed like a good idea. There is nothing she loves more then getting stupid with someone who knows you like the back of their hand. Mika doesn't really like drinking with strangers really anymore - she seldom goes to a bar. It's just more comfortable this way, knowing someone who will take care of you if fall over. "See, this is fun, and relaxing. I don't have to worry about getting so f*cked up I can't make good decisions," she said, a devilish look on her face. When Mika wants to go out of control she normally takes Triple C's. But tonight, drinking with Caine until they both can't walk sounded like a wonderful idea. "Whether or not you choowse - " Mika covered her mouth, catching her slight slur. She laughed, eyes floating awkwardly to the floor. "I'm so embarrassed .. such a light weight," she sighed, shaking her head at herself.
Mentioning the alcoholism Mika gave a concerned look, knowing that a substance abuse in a beloved family member was always hard to deal with. He'll get why his siblings are hard on him some day - even if they are a little harsh in Mika's opinion. But she wasn't judging. do what you have to do. Which is why Mika tries not to try too much about Caine's problems. It's hard because she does care about him, but it's not her place. She just doesn't want him to end up hurting himself - but she trusts him. Right? Yes. He can take care of himself. "It's just like the apple in the Garden of eden. Just needs a little bit of good persuading to pick it up. Even when told no," she shrugged, a bible reference not something she did often (considering she wasn't religious). But it was fitting. Glancing to the window, the heavy rain wasn't the only thing pouring down outside right now. Mika jumped at the sound of a large crack, thunder reeking havoc on the sky above. Taking the passed blunt from Caine, Mika looked continued looking out the window. "Oh my ..." she said, taking in a large hit and blowing the smoke out in a certain way so they made little O's. She gigged when she was done "Do you know how to do that?" she asked.
Her father was a rather sensitive subject. The smoke in the room very apparent by the dim lighting, Mika spoke "I just hope he doesn't want be to come home soon. It's like .. torture. He always has a field day when I get back," she shook her head of the thought, not really sure why he father hated her so. He was a sick man - just loved to see pain. He luckily didn't hit her sister nearly as much as he hit her. While she was around Morgan seemed to get off pretty much Scott free. She assumed the first is always the best. She's the only reason she goes back. Mika nodded her head in agreement with Caine's last statement, grabbing the bottle and pouring them both another shot. She held up her glass for another toast, her eyes catching his for a moment. "to good company, yeah?" she smiled, taking her shot and placing her cup down on the table. Taking one more hit of the blunt she was holding, Mika handed it back to Caine and leaned back on the sofa.
Her mouth awkwardly dry, Mika sat up. The curses of smoking weed - always being thirsty. The alcohol wasn't quiet curing her cotton mouth, so Mika got to her feet. "I need water.. " she told Caine, starting to walk past him on the sofa to get to the kitchen. "Do you want - " Mika was cut off when she stumbled over her own two feet - stupid drunken fool - and landed oh so conveniently on Caine's lap. Her cheeks already rosy from the alcohol it was nearly impossible to notice her immediate blush. She laughed, burying her face in Caine's chest out of embarrassment. They were pretty close, and Mika normally would have just gotten right off him - but she was stoned. And when she was stoned, she was cuddly. She was also drunk. Which impaired her judgement even more. She sat up straight, still laughing and looked at Caine. "Im sorry," she said, her british accent lined with small laughed.

They each kept drinking shots at their own pace, though at times they would take them together. Caine had honestly lost count of how many he had taken but comparing how he had felt when he woke up from that three hour nap to how he felt now, Caine felt loads better. In general he was relaxed and the pills provided a slight buzz, which considering the amount he had taken was good. Oh yes, Caine felt a hell of a lot better. He laughed a little when she commented on him being a bad influence, well he couldn't deny that fact. He certainly wasn't one you'd bring home to your parents, not that he particularly cared about that fact. "You mean like drinking and smoking weed?" Caine would never push such habits as pill popping or hard drugs onto Mika, if she had wanted to dabble in that she would have asked or gone in herself. But Caine knew better, she would never go for that and never approved of Caine doing them either. So he didn't bring it up, no point in arguing, especially today.
"See, i'm a good influence on you." He responded to her comment on making good decisions. Clearly the fact that she trusted him enough to get this drunk around him meant something. Most girls he knew were insecure or scared of what they were doing but did it anyway. Lucky for them Caine wasn't some asshole that would take advantage of that, he'd been abused enough growing up to know not to betray trust. Trust was a very important thing to him, it was everything. Luckily, he hadn't been drinking anything when she slurred her words. Already? Caine wasn't at that point, but he was still feeling good. It was funny because she was such a lightweight as compared to him. But all the alcohol abuse that he had endured pretty much ensured that it would take a lot, like the amount he'd had this morning to have him stumbling or even black out. It wasn't fair to his siblings how he handled his life, he drank as much as his father and did as many drugs as his mother had. Yet he hated them, but in the end he was just a hypocrite.
Caine had tried to detox once, and after that he'd begun using again and decided to never again do that. Sometimes he wondered what he would give up instead of going through that pain, his life? It seemed like that was the only option out of his black hole spiral he was in, he was in a losing battle with gravity but it was all he had. Her religious allusion made sense, even if he wasn't religious himself. Caine could honestly say he'd never attended church as a child with his family, he'd attended mass once when staying at a friends house, but he must have been eight years old if not younger. Catholic church was different, it was cold and strict. It was not an environment that Caine could have ever survived in for very long, he didn't want people telling him how to make choices and choose direction. Thunder rolled from the sky and brought him from his thoughts, though he didn't jump. He looked instinctively to the window and saw the quick but brilliant flash of light, turning back he saw a bunch of o-rings Mika was making and he looked curiously at all of them.
"Can't say I do...." He was still watching them like they were some physical astronomical anomaly, but they were just smoke rings and he was looking too much into it. Caine focused what he could of his attention back to her when she mentioned her father, he knew generally never to just bring it up as an icebreaker and they both had something similar in not talking about family there. He was an abusive man from what he could tell but his motives he was not sure of, all he knew was that he didn't like it. No father should abuse a daughter, it just wasn't right. But why did she go back? Caine didn't want her to go, but he knew he couldn't stop her either. Another shot was poured and he grabbed his to join the toast, "Cheers." And he downed another one. How many had he had? His stomach had that feeling of too many, but all he could do at this point was have more to push that feeling away, the only cure he knew. He grabbed the blunt as she sat back and then stood up.
He placed the blunt down on the table, water was a good idea at that moment. He'd be that much less dehydrated in the morning with whatever difference a glass would make. Mika was walking past him, but as soon as that was happening she was on top of him, or at least in his lap. Luckily she hadn't hit anything important or knocked him out or it wouldn't have been awkward but weird. He preferred awkward. She fidgeted around and he laughed along with her as she cuddled right into him, but he didn't mind. With Caine's current sober mood he might have been a little uncomfortable with this, but the alcohol and weed were telling him it was okay, just relax. She was looking up at him, her eyes dazed and looking into his own matching blue ones. "It's alright." There faces were actually really close, he swallowed his mouth was dry. The pause was probably just a few seconds, but he felt like he was thinking in circles. One hand was already around her waist to hold her steady and the other one had held her shoulder so she didn't fall forward either. His fingers delicately traveled up to her neck and to her face where his fingers softly sat behind her neck and his thumb could lightly caress her cheek. All of a sudden his heart felt like it was beating out of his chest. If his sub conscience could have an active voice, it would be commenting on how it was bound to happen, wasn't it?

When Mika made the plan to spend the night with Caine and get f*cked up, she had no idea it was going to lead in this direction. She figured, the two would sit on the sofa, maybe exchange family wars tories and just have a grand old time with each others company. She'd crash on the sofa - even if Caine offered her his bed instead - and then she'd leave in the morning. Maybe stay a little longer, depending on how hung over she was. But now, she was 8+ shots in, stoned, tired and out of right mind. It wasn't like an out of body experience that she'd get when tripping - but it was a nice feeling none the less. She knew Caine wasn't feeling like she was - at lest not yet. She was already clumsy, but being stoned and drunk just made her lazy. A deadly combination.
Mika never really thought of Caine in a romantic sense. They're relationship started because of drugs, and then just blossomed into a relationship. She'd rather that then what happened with Adam. A one night stand - the only one she's ever had - that turned into a best friendship. Awkward Kind of, at first. But they never had that misplaced sexual tension. Not that her and Caine ever did, but they were always carelessly flirting - right? Maybe this was bound to happen. All Mika knew is that Right now, she felt comfortable. Right now, she felt like there was no else in the world she'd rather be. Could have been the alcohol talking. Who was she kidding. It was the alcohol talking. But she didn't care. It was cold outside, and it was warm in his apartment. That was one fact that wasn't going to change.
Mika's eyes were averted to the floor when Caine assured her falling on his lap was ok. She kept them there for a minute, not wanting to make eye contact with her half drunken stoned self. She was partially embarrassed, making a fool of herself as she did. Can't hold her alcohol - Caine was never going to let her live this one down. But her attention was dragged away from the floor when she felt soft fingers travel across her neck and to her face, Caine's thumb gently resting on her cheek. She shut her eyes at the touch at first, but then her baby blues met his for the first time during this encounter. What was probably only seconds felt like hours, the distance between the two close to zero, but Mika didn't mind. They were invading each other's space and for whatever reason, it was fine. Out of right mind, Mika didn't see an issue with what she was sure was about to happen, and actually welcomed the opportunity. her heart was pounding, had somewhere in her sober mind she is saying I knew it. Mika wasn't thinking of tomorrow or when she woke up with the memories of what was going to happen tonight, she only cared for the moment. For once, Mika was acting out of impulse instead of planned thinking. She always had a plan - except this time.
She was comfortable here in Caine's apartment. The smokey atmosphere and combination of bad weather almost made it look like a scene out of a a bad romance movie. She was relaxed and settled in Caine's arms. "Close quarters .." she said, her eyes fluttering from his eyes to his mouth before she leaned in gently, and placed a kiss on his lips. Their lips didn't part way until a few moments later, when Mika pulled away softy. She wasn't sure how he would response - would he push her away? Possibly. Mika hoped not, it would completely ruin the entire evening. She would have left right then and there. She bit her bottom lip, eyes averting from Caine to the bottle of alcohol. She could really go for another shot right about now. She was nervous of his reaction - she was planning for the worse case scenario, in which case the events of the evening would end, and Mika would wake up tomorrow with the thought of what happened. But she didn't care about tomorrow - she cared about the now.
S T A T U S ; Oh yeah. <3 Totally had to pull Muse out of my a** for that, and it's STILL short. >.> T U N E S : Times of Grace N O T E S : C:
