BUT SHE'S NO DRAG JUST WATCH THE WAY SHE WALKS - SHE'S A
( TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX )
[/center]The club was never a popular place for Mika Longley, but over the past couple months she found herself visiting it more and more often. Back when she first got back to American this is normally where she was able to find her entertainment for the evening, given the fact she didn't know anybody those first couple weeks. A lot of people that she was close with in that period of time have justly moved out of her life just as quickly as they appeared, leaving no trace of their existence. It was a vicious cycle in life that she has come to accept, and even though she was welcomed at the club almost as a regular guest she still sat at the bar alone.
It took a while for her to get drunk enough to actually want to throw herself into the pit of sweat and assorted smells of vomit, B.O, and overpowering body spray. As she sat at the bar, her second beer residing in her hand she watched with curious eyes as the girls danced their hearts out and the boys tried their very best to obtain a free treated later that night. She took a slug of the overpriced domestic beer, crossing her right leg over her left as she turned her attention back to the counter in front of her. Even though she really wasn't looking for any fun tonight Mika still got herself all dolled up in proper club attire. As much as she looked like everyone else she still somewhat stuck out, considering she was the only female wearing a little black dress, and the only female to be sitting at the bar alone drinking a beer. Her black pumps gave her a few more inches to her naturally short self, and her make up was over the top, but in a good way. She wasn't trying tim impress anyone, nor was she trying to get anyones attention. Tonight was all about Mika. She needed a good night out (even if it was by herself), and part of having a good night out was feeling good about the way you were dressed. Sighing, Mika looked from the top of her bottle to the rows of alcoholic beverages lining the wall. The bartender was working hard, trying please twenty different customers at once. Glad she didn't have to be working as hard as he Mika drank to his efforts, finishing her bottle and creating more work for him by ordering another.
Two beers in and she had yet to feel anything, something that kind of surprised her. Mika was generally a light weight, but it seems the more she wants to get drunk the easier it is for her to keep her composure. Just her luck, right? She has not been having the best past few weeks, even though she has been in contact with the person who means the most to her : Caine. She hasn't actually seen him since she just abruptly stopped by his apartment after a year and a few months, but she was still in contact. She texted him almost every day, just to make sure he didn't go get himself killed while she was sleeping. He was generally pretty good about answering her too, but sometimes he wouldn't. That always made her nervous, and today was one of those days he was no where to be found. She didn't assume the worse, even though she should have, and merely went to the club to drink - and then hopefully dance - her worries away. At this moment she missed the hell out of him, but hated herself for it. The constant war going on within her about whether or not he is really worth the wait and frustration. But he always was, and she knew he always would be. But thinking about it every day as she did was getting to her - she needed to get out.
She was drawn out of thought by the bar tender who placed another beer in front of her, a broad smile on his face. Mika remembered him, he served on her many times - she actually spent a rather fun night with him a couple weeks into her being back in Outlier. Her eyes met his for a moment - dark brown, almost black. It was a nice change from the bright blues she was longing to see, a change that she needed. 'haven't seen you around in a while,' he said, opening the beer as Mika grinned, taking her first sip. "I've been busy - summer classes," she retorted, he nodding to her as he was pulled back into the rush of serving these sex craving young adults more alcohol. Mika still wondered why alcohol was legal over weed - it baffled her. She can't say she's ever had a one night stand because she blacked out from weed, but alcohol was a different story. Having been weed free for about a week now Mika was missing the sweet mary jane, but the beer was doing a fine job replenishing the need to escape her reality for a while. She took one more big gulp, guzzling down a good portion of the beer before glancing back to the dance floor. Maybe one more drink and she'll be ready to submerge herself in that .. mess.
