trey sage owens played by inky
basics full name, trey sage owens - sage means 'healing herb', something his mother thought he would be for her. nickname, he usually goes by 'DJ' when dealing with people he doesn't really know. he often makes up names to keep his identity safe. face claim, edward norton gender, guy age, 18 birthday, may 1st race, caucasion rank, drop out - he gave up on school after falling too far behind. grade, dropped out near the end of junior year, right after he was kicked out of his house. job, he tries to do cheap side jobs wherever he can, but, unfortunately, he's beginning to try.. uh, well, prostitution. he denies he does it like no other, though. hey, money doesn't grow on trees.
appearance hair, nothing special, seriously. when he was younger he used to have flip-out hat hair.. but he cut it all off. short, brown, and scruffy. simple, but it works. eyes, green. build, average in height, guy form, on the skinny side, and kind of bony at the joints. in no way is he mr. macho muscles.. he doesn't care much about that anymore. voice, he often says things like 'aight', haha, and his tone of voice is like a guy, of course, and kind of raspy. almost like he's exasperated when he's in bad shape.. which is often. movement/feel, relaxed with his walk, in no way awkward, but often times jerky or paranoid in response to certain things. very, very fidgety.. it's hard for him to keep still. however, when he's in a group of people he likes, and he's having a good time, he can be very expressive with his movements. hyper, almost. he used to take ADD pills to help with the lack of focus he has. style, he's usually swagging it, and commonly wears hats that flip up forward. however, with his life style at the moment, in no way does he have nice clothes; they're usually cheap. that, or they're worn down. he doesn't really strive for anything when it comes to a certain style of clothing, he just uses what he has and that's it. tattoos or piercings? any scars?, a tattoo or so, but nothing huge. he can't really afford to get anything else at the moment. he used to have a lip piercing, but he doesn't really wear it anymore. as for scars, he has some here and there from doing stupid stuff with friends in the past. one of his friends liked to jam cigarettes on his neck.. and still does.
mental smoke, yeah. if he can a hold of a cigarette, i mean. drink, doesn't hurt here and there, but he's not an alcoholic. virgin, god no, that's long gone. drugs, unfortunately, yes. i guess you could say it's a social 'get-by', but it also helps him cope with each day. a friend introduced him to the substance, and, ever since then, he's been convinced to use it to him own will. sexuality, straight.. but he doesn't care much for relationships anymore. i suppose you could say he gave up on the idea of having one.. and he's not very respectful when it comes to girls.
likes,
dislikes,
secrets, a.. lot. his past life, his mother's murder, and what he went through afterward (foster care, therapy, pills, etc). what he'll go so low to do in order to stay alive, and especially how lost he is within himself. he doesn't know how to be him anymore.. or who that even is. if a situation is funny, for instance, or he cracks a joke, he feels its all a cover.. but it's not obvious, he's used to doing it. or maybe he is happy, he's not really what feels like what anymore. ambitions, to make enough money to get by and practically survive the harsh street life. honestly, he has no long term ambitions. he always just finds the easiest way through or past things. personality, social most definitely, but only with the people he knows. this doesn't make him afraid to go up to a complete stranger and scare the crap out of him - he loves to dare or prank people. he doesn't really think before he does things, either. he sorta just jumps headfirst into it.
history history, Trey had a real rough upbringing. he was an accident because his mother was a rather.. sleazy, party girl. his father already had another wife and kid on the way, so, of course, he fled from the crime scene. his mother on the other hand was only 14 when she had him and strongly believed he would be the sage to her life. she planned on being oh so motherly and caring, to get a bunch of side jobs, and raise him as her own. her family wasn't pleased with her lifestyle already, so this definitely wouldn't be approved. they ignored her completely, not wanting anything to do with her.
day to day life wasn't so easy, especially because Trey lacked siblings or even a family, and also because they had a hard time getting by. being busy with numerous jobs, his mother didn't exactly have time to spoil him with attention or even hire a baby sitter. so, little trey often got himself ready, to school, and back all over again. there were even nights where his mother wouldn't come home and he would simply heat up a frozen dinner from the fridge. slowly, overtime, he lacked ambition in school, and he didn't really have a lot of friends. naturally, this drove him to become an awfully quiet and shy kid.
his life completely changed when he came home to his mother's dead body. he didn't really know how to look at it. was it a good thing that he was free from this lifestyle, his mother? or was it bad, that now he had lacked any family at all? child services took him away, where he received therapy and counseling, along with foster care, until he was twelve years old. yeah, this went on for four years. no one really wanted to adopt a kid who didn't want to move forward, and especially one that misbehaved and never took a liking to them. the worst foster families, to him, were always the religious ones. he hated the idea of following such strict guidelines, of believing in something that didn't exist. if santa didn't,or the easter bunny, then why did god? school didn't get any better, and neither did his depression. no other kid that attended his school went through what he had, and one really got along with him. he had nothing, so he was nothing.
however, things starting looking up. his birth father and his family discovered him, having the idea of raising a better son.. of having a second chance. it was apparent that their other son, Gavin, was not reaching expectations, and being a highly respected man associated with politics.. he needed this. so he would not look like a fool above so many other people. the Andrews were also Christians, unfortunately, but Trey learned pretty fast to shut his mouth. at least they had money, at least they could afford a house and keep it conditioned. he followed the rules.. loosely. he didn't freak out if he screwed up, he just did the minimum to keep them quiet. he tried for a while, the ADD/depression pills and therapy helping, but apparently not good enough.
high school arrived, and he started dropping classes. he gave up. he hated the therapy, he used the pills to get high, or to get some extra cash.. all after he met a guy named Zak Fox. the man snapped him out of his insecure shell, and, faster than ever, he began meeting people. however, it wasn't long before his parents discovered his addictions and disturbing habits. the nicknames began, and he was nothing like his shy, bland, uncorrupted self that they once knew. he dropped out of high school sophomore year and headed into continuation. he got some tattoos, and, before he knew it, he was on the streets.. right after his gay brother.
